Congratulations to our amazing Director Ms Florence Namaganda on this milestone. We are privileged to work alongside you in this amazing work with children with special needs. You are a visionary and a leader who leads by example and we are proud of how far God has brought you and the lasting changes you are making in the lives of His precious little ones.

At Dawn Children's Centre, we ended our academic year 2025 with a twist...our children's christmas party along with our first ever siblings day. A large number of siblings came ranging from 2 years old to 18 years old. Our therapists were able to engage them in discussions about disability to demystify some of the things they thought they knew and educate with correct information, whilst teachers engaged them in learning new skills. The little ones learnt how to make bracelets and the older ones learnt how to make ice cream and everyone had a great time. We had bouncy castles, trampoline, dress up characters, chicken for lunch and even a visit from Santa Claus himself.

With bellies full of food, heads full of new knowledge and hopefully hearts full of love we said see you soon to our children for another year, but we always look forward to welcoming them back again in January. Merry Christmas to all!

According to our Dawn Children's Centre parents "This was the best ever Christmas production you have ever done. It was very creative, involving all age groups, with articulate narrators. Thank you"

Saturday 29th November saw Dawn Children's Centre coming to the close of the term and the year with our annual end of year concert. This year we had over 170 children with and without disabilities, from a total of 14 classes, ranging from the age of 3 years old to 18 years old, joining together to tell the Christmas story through music, band, singing, dancing, drama and sign language. And it was a success!

We also celebrated 14 children in Top class who will be graduating to primary school next year, as well as 11 in primary 7 who complete Primary Leaving Exams and a Vocational Exam in Bakery and will be leaving us for secondary school next year.

It was a beautiful day of celebration, remembering the real reason for the Christmas season and standing with our graduating parents to acknowledge their efforts and hard work in the growth and development of all our children.

Another year, another Primary 7, another 11 students completing primary school next week with not just Primary Leaving Examination achievements, but also a certificate in bakery.

At Dawn Children's Centre, our Primary 7 do not stay home after exams, instead they come back to school for days of learning vocational and life skills like bakery, arts and crafts, weaving, music, dance, drama and others.

After 2 weeks of practice and learning, today our P7 students did their final vocational exam, each one baked their own cake for tasting.

This week we are giving a huge shout out and thank you to MTN Uganda and the MTN Foundation for the impact you have had on our inclusive school, Dawn Children's Centre, through your MTN Changemakers Initiative.

Dawn were beneficiaries of Phase 2 when we received brass band instruments allowing us to establish a school band, but more than that, they allowed us to establish the start of a music therapy department at school. Currently 180+ children have benefited from these instruments in various ways for which we are more than grateful.

This past Tuesday we were invited by MTN Foundation to attend the launch of MTN Changemakers Phase 3. Our school band ushered in the special guests and guest of honour and performed on the MTN stage, as well as having 2 of our young men speaking on a panel about how the instruments have made changes in their development. Watch the video to see the full impact of the day. Enjoy!
