Huddersfield managed to get a 2:1 victory against Nottingham Forest on the Boxing Day in front of own fans, while the three pointer itself didn’t came that easy as many of their fans might have thought about it. Guests were actually the ones who took the lead, in 25th minute via Pereira, while the home team had much more of the ball possession through the game, but could only convert it in the second halftime.
They actually needed six minutes in the second half to revert the scoreline, thanks to goals from Palmer in 53rd and in 59th via an own goal, while the players of Huddersfield continued being better and keeping the ball to their feet, without allowing the visiting side to create some dangerous situations, as the guests even stood playing with a man less towards the end. Huddersfield now had three points more than seventh placed Derby and needs to keep winning here.
Home team is set to play in 4-2-3-1 formation with Wells as central striker, but also with support of Parra, Palmer and Kachunga as offensive midfielders. Defensive midfielder Jonathan Hogg (20/1) is injured, as well as right midfielder Sean Scannell (11/0). Offensive midfielder Joe Lolley (3/0) is doubtful and probably won’t play, while same goes for left back Tareiq Holmes-Dennis (4/0).

Blackburn, on the other side, comes from their fourth consecutive defeat, this time they lost away from home on Monday afternoon when the team stood defeated against Barnsley 2:0. It was their fifth consecutive match without a victory, as they simply couldnt’ do much against hosts who simply knew what they wanted and stood on the field as much more mature side.
Visitors did create chances in front of opponents goal and kept the ball more, but their defensive lineup was once again pretty poor and didn’t stood with confidence, showing that they really need improvement in that department in January transfer window. They are continuing to be inside the relegation zone, having twenty points earned, which is three less than safely placed QPR, but away from home the team has only 2-1-8 record and can’t hope for much here.
Blackburn is set to play in 4-4-2 formation which is typical for them, using Emnes and Graham as strikers. Central defender Elliott Ward (1/0) is injured, as well as left full back Adam Henley (2/0) and other central defender, Tommie Hoban (10/0). Midfielder and sometimes right back Ben Marshall (21/1) continues to be doubtful after skipping the previous game too. Suspended for this one are central defender/defensive midfielder Darragh Lenihan (22/0) and other right back, Jason Lowe (21/0).
Huddersfield have won their last 4 matches (Championship).
Blackburn have lost their last 4 matches (Championship).
Huddersfield is in a much better momentum now and I can’t see past their victory here. Blackburn have a lot of problems in their game play and the team shouldn’t be able to respond here with a proper performance. They are missing some key players in the defense and the victory of the home team should not be questionable here.

FranceVSRomania It is finally here!!! Euro 2016 kicks off with the hosts France taking on Romania and Didier Deschamps France team will fancy their chances of winning the tournament outright, never mind just winning this game. France go into this tournament as the bookmakers favourites at around 3/1, just ahead of Germany and Spain in the betting. Romania are 250/1 to win outright which shows the difference in ability and expectation.

Deschamps caused a bit of controversy by leaving out Karim Benzema and Hatam Ben Arfa from his squad, leading to Manchester United legend Eric Cantona questioning if the coach was racist due to their ethnicity - both players are of North African descent. Both Benzema and Ben Arfa had fine seasons for their domestic clubs but didn't make the squad. Deschamps denies the claims. This negative news story is unlikely to cause a great deal of problems within the squad though so those that are backing France need not to worry about any unnecessary distractions.

France look to have a balanced squad assembled overall, although they have lost quite a few of their first choice central defenders recently. They are without Real Madrid centre back Rafael Varane and Barcelona centre back Jeremy Mathieu through injuries, and Liverpool player Mamadu Sakho was not called up due to a provisional doping ban. Sevilla's Adil Rami replaced Varane in the squad whilst Lyon's Samuel Umtiti replaces Mathieu. Wing back could be a problem area as France are reliant on the aging Patrice Evra alongside Digne and Jallet so they may be vulnerable to a quick counter attack.

If France do have a weakness then you would suggest it would be their defence as their attacking threat looks intimidating. They boast the likes of Atletico Madrid star Antoinne Griezmann, Manchester United star Anthony Martial and Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, with support coming from West Hams Dimitri Payet and Bayern Munichs winger Kingsley Coman. Paul Pogba will provide the stability in central midfield.

Romania do not have many players plying their trade in the top European leagues these days. Captain Vlad Chiriches may be the most high profile player but Cordoba striker Florin Andone would be my pick of the squad and the player most likely to cause a threat to the France back line. Córdoba do play in the second tier of Spanish football but Andone looks to have potential.

Romania coach Anghel Iordanescu looks to have a tough job on his hands to achieve a top two finish in the group with Switzerland the other team likely to provide competition. Most people assume that Albania will finish bottom of the group and I would probably agree with that.

The furthest Romania have progressed in the European competition was in 2000 when they made the quarter finals and they do have a chance of matching that achievement if they can beat Switzerland in their next game, although they will not get any further than the quarter finals, I cannot see them holding out against France in the opening game with the atmosphere likely to be electric. You might point to the fact that Romania had the best defensive record in qualifying with just two goals conceded in ten unbeaten games, but I would say that relates more to the low standard of opposition. This will be a different test entirely.

A single goal victory would do France nicely, but I will take a risk for the opening game and bet that France will push on once they have taken the lead and will keep attacking with the crowd behind them. My bet will be for France to cover a one goal handicap at odds of even money (2.00
