Flashback Friday 💙🏀
Some seasons just hit a little different.
I'm still finding myself still thinking about coaching All-Stars this past season. This team was so special. These boys taught me so much about growth, toughness, and what can happen when a group starts learning how to trust each other and play for something bigger than themselves.
When the season ended, I shared with them my favorite sports quote of all time from the GOAT himself.
"I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."
Perspective in sports, and in life, is so important. I have fortunately had some incredible coaches in my sports journey growing up and throughout high school, and what I learned from the best of them is that losing = learning. It contributes to growth and discipline, and for me personally the determination to succeed. Blessed is an understatement that I was able to pass that mindset onto this amazing group of kids.
So incredibly proud of each one of them and thankful for the season we had together. 💙

🏀⚽🏈⚾ Quick Update from Coach Jed
I know it’s been a little quiet on here lately, but it’s for a good reason. I’ve been busy coaching and training so many kids. From holding small group sessions, balancing all-stars, rec soccer, and everything else that comes with this season of life it's been a ride. To be honest, I’ve also been learning a lot in real time about how to build this the right way and taking notes along the way. It’s been busy, but it’s also been so fulfilling.
One thing that keeps getting confirmed for me over and over is how much I love coaching. Helping kids grow in confidence on the field, having a fundamentals first mindset, and really understanding the game they love is exactly why I started this in the first place.
I’m excited to get back to posting more consistently so be on the lookout for drills, coaching thoughts/wisdom, kid wins, and more about what I'm building.
Thanks to everyone who’s trusted me with your kids so far. More to come 🙌

🏀 Proud Coach🥈
Our boys took on some really strong competition this weekend, and I couldn’t be more proud of how they responded.
Every game, you could see them:
🔹 Getting more comfortable playing together
🔹 Starting to trust each other more with the ball
🔹 Better spacing and ball movement
🔹 Keeping their effort up, even when things got tough
This is what it's all about. This is the part of basketball, or any sport, that doesn’t always show up on a scoreboard but matters just as much learning how to be a better teammate, how to keep your head up, and how to keep fighting together.
Proud of this group and excited to see where they go from here.

🚨 New Series Coming: Drill of the Week 🚨
One thing I hear a lot from parents:
“We want to help our kid get better, we just don’t know what to work on.”
So starting next week, I’m launching a weekly “Drill of the Week” every Monday. It'll be a quick, simple drill you can do with your kid (ages 4-11) in 5-10 minutes at home.
I’ll rotate between:
⚾ Baseball
🏀 Basketball
🏈 Flag football
⚽ Soccer
These will be the same types of drills I use in my sessions: fun, focused, and easy to repeat.
If you’ve got a specific struggle you’re seeing (confidence, footwork, finishing, throwing, etc.), comment below and I’ll try to build a drill around it. 👇
Let's Geaux!!!

🏀⚽🏈⚾️ 1-on-1 & Small Group Sessions – Youth Sports Coaching with Coach Jed
I’m a local youth sports coach, and after 7+ years of coaching my boys and their friends, I’m opening up 1-on-1 and small group sessions for kids in Vermilion Parish ages 5-11.
I have coaching experience across:
💥 Rec ball
💥 All-stars
💥 Multiple sports (basketball, flag football, soccer, baseball)
What I’ve learned is that I can meet your kid exactly where they’re at and help take them where they want to go. My coaching is personalized, fun, and focused on your kid’s needs to take that next step in their game.
My program is great for:
➡️ Kids just starting out who need the basics taught the right way
➡️ Rec players who want to clean up their form and footwork
➡️ Athletes who know what to do but have trouble translating practice success into gameday readiness
To kick things off, I’m offering (3) 1:1 sessions (45-min.) FREE for the first 3 kids so I can refine the program and get feedback from parents.
📍 I travel to you (driveway/yard), local parks, or area school gyms when available (Vermilion Parish)
📆 Flexible scheduling
💬 DM me to learn more or lock in a spot – sessions will fill up quick!
