Any classes tomorrow after 5?
Anyone feeling a bit under the weather? Or, should I say, on top of the weather?
Snow!? This girl is not a fan of winter. No sorries though, this storm is for the Hills. As the winter season approaches, please know that IF class is cancelled I will personally notify all registered students [benefit of a small studio].
Yes!!! It's National Taco Day! Go get yourself a taco .......... just not right before yoga. You're welcome πŸ˜‰

I don't remember when I posted last, but I have done at least 30 minutes of yoga every day this month. Today Berkley even showed me how to improve my form. I had to move her off my mat!

Day 6~30 minutes

Sharing a feeling based yoga practice focusing on mindful breathing and body movements while observing the body as a whole in yoga classes, privates and teacher training.

Operating as usual

Restorative Yoga is definitely full of pros and cons. The only con I can think of is that it makes me sleep too good and I don't want to get up in the morning. πŸ˜‚

For real though, Restorative is an essential yoga practice. It activates our calming nervous system which reduces stress which then reduces toxins in body which THEN reduces illness. PLUS, rest does make you stronger.

⭐ Long, necessary read ahead. I always find myself preaching self-care, but I wonder if people understand really why you should indulge. I recently read a blurb reaffirming my belief in self-care.

"Balancing Self with Family Life

Taking time for daily self-care is vital and necessary and should not be seen as a luxury.

Many of us have a hard time balancing taking care of ourselves with taking care of our family responsibilities. For people with young children, this can be especially challenging, but even people without children have obligations to care for extended family, partners, pets, and the home in which they live. It's easy to lose track of our own needs as we give ourselves to the people, pets, and places we love. However, it is essential to their well-being that we take care of ourselves, filling our own wells with water so that we have something to offer when we return home each day."

Boy do I miss the days of training, running and destination events. But, I am thankful to be able to share what I know with others incorporating yoga into their training.

So many chapters of my yoga story have been written within these halls. From taking classes and learning to teach, your story can, too β™‘

Do you enjoy a classical yoga practice? A practice that you don't have to focus on what is coming next, but one that you can truly focus more on your breath and let your body move through what it knows best?

If this sounds like you, JOIN ME for 3 weeks of Simply Sun Salutations coming up in December!

The class will consist only of Sun Salutations so you let go and let your breath and body flow as one. You will receive a print out of Sun Salutations sequences to guide you throughout class each week and to even help develop a home practice.

The class will be capped at 8 students to honor a space for you feel safe to move freely with your breath and body.

Yoga teacher training weekend awaits!

This weekend, I get the privilege of gathering with some curious, inspirational and motivational beings to live, learn and love yoga!

We continue to gather and breakdown yoga poses, learn from guest speakers, and practice-practice-practice!

Bhagavad Gita.

If you've ever read any yoga texts at all, you've probably stumbled across the Bhagavad Gita translating to "Song of God". One of the most ancient Hindu texts, Gita embodies the theme of realizing one's true essential nature [in a conversation that happens between Arjuna and Krishna]. It represents the battle within ourselves - between the higher and lower qualities.

The Gita contains the guidelines for understanding how to seek and find the truth within oneself.

The Gita promises a peaceful and harmonious life. If you follow just one of the guidelines perhaps fully, you can get to the truth.

It's a good read and for sure one to be read if you're a serious yogi. I suggest reading a bit and putting it down to simmer - a little at a time.

The word Namaste is described as "the light within me honors and loves the light within you" - or, thereabouts. The word light may be replaced with Spirit, Divinity, or Pure Consciousness.

Saying the word Namaste is an expression of honor and respects the other person as being made of the same Pure Consciousness as you.

In the West, we often end a yoga class with the word Namaste, but did you know that in India, the word Namaste is used as a greeting, a Hello?

Tomorrow I get to share the good through yoga again this week. There have been increasing curiosities of classes in the Infrared Room at Fit & Fire Studios, which makes me happy because it is a wonderful space. I have a few new students signed up again and am anxiously awaiting to see familiar faces on the list as well.

Introducing the Infrared Studio at Fit and Fire! This space is heated to room temperature so not as hot as the Hot Studio in the building. However, with a lot of breath and movement, you will warm to the perfect temperature and enjoy the same benefits of yoga as you may in the Hot Yoga studio and other studios. Not to mention, this studio has undeniable benefits of the infrared lights for hair, skin, muscles and mental health.

Try it out tomorrow at my 6:15pm Yoga Flow class. Due to limited attendance, sign up online to reserve your mat space - plus - I get a little giddy seeing how is coming!

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the Infrared Studio at Fit and Fire Studios! Sometimes this studio does get overlooked some, but we use it for Aerial, Bungee, Buti, Barre, Bootcamps, and even Yoga Flow Classes!!

Flow with me Thursdays at 6:15pm in the Infrared Studio. Your breath, your moving body, the infrared lights - I promise you will sweat!

These lights offer so many benefits to the body. The infrared lights help with muscle repair, skin appearance, and also help with our mental health.

All class sizes at Fit and Fire are limited to honor social distancing. Please sign up in advance for the class - Plus, I love to see who's coming

Just sitting here thinking about some of my yoga friends

Few hours until the magic happens!

I'm back in the hot studio Monday nights at 6pm for Hot Yoga Flow!

Check out Mind Body - Hoping there is still room in class for you, xox.

Your yoga goal doesn't have to be a challenging pose or extreme flexibility, it can simply be to quiet the mind just long enough to find stillness in an asana whether that is on your feet or flying.

Practice tonight with me at 6pm at the Hot Yoga Studio.

Take some time for you - It's just what the doctor ordered!

I'm on Vacation.

Due to obvious reasons, I'm not taking a beachy vacation this year. Instead I'm headed west into more snow. Those of you that know me - you know winter, snow, and cold is not my fav. I will be visiting all of the hot yoga studios to warm up and pretend I'm at the beach instead.

I have a lot of winter requests for classes and privates coming in. While I'm away from the studios and Facebook, you may get on my list at

Ujjayi Breathing | Yoga with Adriene

Did you know that one of the easiest ways to warm up is simply by using your own breath? It also happens to be the most economical, haha!

One of the breathing techniques that we use in a Yoga Flow class and dissect in yoga teacher training is Ujjayi Breath. It is a warming, energizing and calming breath all at the same time!

Here is one of everyone's favorites, Yoga by Adriene, explaining Ujjayi Breath.

I love hearing and feeling the breath whether that be in meditation, yoga class, or simply sitting in my car freezing.

Let's get together and focus on our breath and yoga:

Aberdeen Salvation Army sees food shortage amid pandemic

Heads-up sweet yogis πŸ₯° Food pantries across the state, including the Aberdeen Salvation Army, have been hit hard by the ongoing pandemic, and it comes at a time where job loss and insecurity are forcing many to turn to help.

[10/13/20]   Next Monday I have the day off and I cannot wait for the long period of time I will sit in meditation.

For today, its quick but time alone, time for me.

I have shared this before. Commit.

Private Yoga

One of my favorite ways to share yoga is through private yoga sessions. I keep pretty busy sharing yoga in 1-on-1 sessions as well as small groups.

A 1-on-1 yoga private caters specifically to YOUR individual wants and needs.
- maybe you want to learn the basics before stepping into a class
- maybe you want to work on a specific mind - body condition
- maybe you want to meditate and stretch

For the past 6-9 months, I have also been offering private small group yoga classes of 6 students. These classes have been perfect for people who want to attend yoga but for their own reasons do not want to share space with very many people during the uncertain times of COVID.

All of my 1-on-1 and small group sessions are held at Fit and Fire Studios in Aberdeen. If you would like me to email you when my next small group starts, share your email with me through

Life starts all over again every single day.
