🎊TUESDAY TIPS!🎊

Today, we are talking about HYDRATION, and the consequences of being dehydrated! We all know our bodies are between 60% and 70%, which means water SHOULD BE pretty important to us! I know I'm not the only one who isn't a big fan of drinking tons of water, but I know how important it is for my body!

There are daily recommendations in place for water consumption, but make sure you listen to your body! Thirst is a very clear indicator that your body needs water, even hunger pains are often your body asking for water!

-Watch for the warning signs for dehydration. ⚠️
-Drink water when you feel thirsty. 🤤
-Increase water consumption while in the heat or exercising. 🧊

Our Member Spotlight for the month of November falls on...
TRACY STALLMAN!

Tracy is relatively new to the gym, but she has shown us how no matter where you are, if you are putting in the work, you will see the results! She has a great attitude and is very determined to meet her goals; she comes in with a smile every day, then it's right to work! Overcoming the anxiety of starting is the hardest part, but soon enough you will find something you love about the gym, and I hear Tracy REALLY likes strength training.

Here is one of the questions we asked Tracy!
-What advice would you give someone considering starting a fitness program?
“Take your time. Start Slow. Make small goals that add up to a larger one. I started by walking around the block everyday, and now I have lost and kept off about 150 lbs. Setbacks will happen, but don’t let that make you give up completely.”

Congratulations on your progress so far, Tracy! We can't wait to see how you'll go on your fitness journey!

Time for another THURSDAY TRUTH BOMB from the Training Team:
MYTH: Sweating more means you are burning more fat.
TRUTH: The idea that sweating means increased fat burning is NOT supported by science.

-The amount a person sweats during a work out is determined by age, weight, fitness level, genetics and many other factors.
-Sweating itself WILL NOT burn a significant amount of excess fat.
-Sweat is associated with your body's ability to regulate its own temperature. Sweating is caused by your body's attempt to lower its own temperature.
-Weight loss associated with sweating is merely water weight and will return when you rehydrate yourself.

So what does that mean for you?
-Saunas, sauna suits, waist trainers, doing cardio with extra clothing and other methods that increase sweat during exercise are causing WATER LOSS, not sustainable, long-term fat loss.
-You are putting yourself in a better position to experience the consequences of dehydration, rather than experiencing weight loss.
