Banquet tickets are available at the Hitch'n Post, through Pheasants Forever board members, or at the door the night of the banquet.

The Chapter will still be giving away the 10 guns normally drawn out at the Spring Banquet this fall during the Fall Shoot Out Event and Fundraiser October 16th at the AmericInn Lodge & Suites, Aberdeen SD.
All tickets previously sold for the spring banquet will still get a Pheasants Forever membership and be eligible for a chance to win one of the 10 guns. Anyone interested in becoming a new Pheasants Forever member or renewing their membership can still buy a ticket for $60. All PF membership tickets sold prior to the Fall Shoot Out Event and Fundraiser will be eligible for a chance to win 1 of 10 guns.

We are finishing round one during which we raised over $107,800 in 2015 and 2016 to go towards a $25/ acre bonus to farmers and landowners who enroll some of their acres into CRP as well as South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Walk In program ( public hunting access). This provides excellent pheasant nesting and brood rearing cover that is great habitat in the Fall and all open to public hunting. Pheasant Hunters from all across the USA come here to hunt pheasants spending lots of money in Aberdeen during the process. According to the Aberdeen Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, for every dollar coming into Aberdeen it is magnified 3 to 7 times before leaving our community. In other words if pheasant hunters spend $15 million dollars in Aberdeen during the pheasant season that results in a economic benefit to Aberdeen of over $45 million (and a lot more!) each year. That money helps our businesses, our schools, our libraries, and our residents overall.
We set a goal of enrolling 4000 acres into the program, we are less than 300 acres away from reaching that which we will do within the next few weeks with the current CRP signup going on now. Due to the success of our first round of putting in 4000 acres into the APC we are now targeting another 4000 acres to be enrolled into our program.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our best pal, Sven. Sven was the best mascot for the store, companion, hunter, and big brother to Jane. He will be greatly missed by many, but we know he is flying high without pain, and busy eating lots of ice cream, running fast, and chasing birds up in heaven. If you stop by the store this week, be sure to give Jane a treat and lots of pets.

Thanks to the support of hundreds of contributors, the GPO had an outstanding fundraising banquet on February 10th! GPO is now ready to award financial grants to organizations that sponsor youth programs involving the shooting sports, archery, and fishing. Grants are also available for shooting range and facilities improvements which foster educational opportunities for youth, families, and others interested in target shooting, competitive shooting, archery, hunting, fishing, firearms safety and ethics. Any organization from Brown and surrounding counties that wants to improve an existing program or establish a new program is encouraged to apply. Due to recent events we have taken measures to protect and prevent people from break in and theft like those occurring at gun stores in Sioux Falls and Mitchell and across the country. We have been instructed by the ATF to secure our facility and inventory.

Passing on some information on the Great Plains Outdoorsmen Banquet.
Tickets are still available! Tickets are $35 and include meal and entry into a raffle for a Christensen Arms Mesa 7mm REM MAG in Burnt Bronze, with a Leupold VX-3i 4.5-14x40 scope.
The banquet will be held on Thursday, February 13th at the Best Western Ramkota in Aberdeen. The social starts at 5:00 PM and the dinner starts at 7:00 PM.
