I 100% recommend Dessire Armstrong if you want to get healthy and do it the right way. I have been on her meals plans a couple months now after working out every day and restricting my calories/carbs for over a month and losing no weight. I could not figure out what I was doing wrong and was so discouraged and ready to just give up. A friend recommended her and after just a couple months of meal plans I am down 12 pounds and several inches and feel so much better than I did. [10/24/20]   I’m reading “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. (Great read so far, highly recommend it) I wanted to share something with you guys about enduring and keeping habits.

Imagine you are in a room that is 25 degrees with an ice cube on the counter.

You slowly increase the temperature by 1 degree.

Twenty Six
Twenty Seven
Twenty Eight
...

But the ice cube remains. Finally you reach 32 degrees. And while you notice nothing different, the ice cube starts to change.

All the work you put in sometimes takes time to be seen. It doesn’t mean that the previous work was useless, bc it got you to your 32 degrees. That tipping point. That place where something finally gives and change begins to happen.

So keep on keeping on. Daily habits pay off.

Little less muscle showing through this time, as I weigh about 8lbs more than I did at 38 weeks with Heidi. I started out much smaller and gained 35-40lb with Heidi and only about 20-25lb so far with Harvey.

RUNNING WHILE PREGNANT CAN BE UNCOMFORTABLE, WHAT ARE SOME CARDIO OPTIONS? 🏃‍♀️ 🚲 🏊‍♀️ 🏋🏼‍♀️

If you have access to a stationary cycle, you should be putting that thing to use. Riding a bike is a great cardio workout and really helps keep you fit. However, riding a real bike during pregnancy can be quite tricky due to balance issues. Therefore, a stationary bicycle is the perfect option.

While riding your stationary bike, consider listening to some music or watching your favorite TV show to pass the time more quickly. Before you know it, your workout will be over and you'll be feeling much more energetic.

Remember to always consult with your doctor to make sure what you can and cannot be doing. Keep going mama! Consistency yields results!

I scored a Shwinn Airdyne bike on Facebook Marketplace for $40! I’ll be using it to keep moving until baby Harvey arrives and using it afterward during recovery (after I’m cleared of course).

As you can see, there can be quite a bit of anatomic variance in humans. 🧐⁣

So, how can we possibly think that every person will squat exactly the same❓⁣🤨⁣

That said, in the picture you'll see a few different things... 🦴 ⁣

The head of the femur can vary widely anatomically, both in size and in angulation (anteversion or retroversion as shown). In Laymen’s terms...the angle can effect if your pigeon toed or bow legged, toe in or toe out, knock knees etc etc (along with other factors). ⁣

The depth of the socket & femoral neck angle will effect width of stance, knee angle, toe out/in angle, hip ROM and pelvic mobility. 🏋️‍♂️⁣

The femoral neck angle may also change throughout life, and varies widely with gender and ethnicity.⁣⁣

Third #StreetParking METCON done! I’ve really been enjoying the full workouts so far. I like that I can modify to what equipment I have and what I’m capable of accomplishing. Being a coach and trainer doesn’t mean I like making my own workouts lol

The program I chose today allowed me to choose the bike or rower. I love the rower! So I chose the one I hate, I hate it bc it hurts (in a good suck kind of way). In the first round I said aloud “I should have chose the rower” 🤣🤣 but that would have been the easy way out.

[07/10/20]   **I HATE USDA LABELING!!**

USDA labeling is so misleading to uninformed consumers!

Example: Beef can say "Grass-Fed" even if it's finished on grains bc of a grandfather clause. You have to get "100% Grass-Fed" to be guaranteed that there is no grain used for the cattle.

Even "100% Grass-Fed" beef can be given antibiotics and hormones unless labeled "Certified Organic" and carry the seal.

So you have to look for ORGANIC 100% GRASS-FED beef products. This goes for dairy products as well.

Another fine example of why you should do your research and make informed buying decisions.

What’s the Wednesday, featuring the Safety Squat bar 🏋️

Y’all may have seen this bar at both of our locations, so what is it used for?

As the name suggests, it is very useful for squats. The thick padding is very comfortable, so can be great for people getting used to squats for the first time, or just needing a break from the regular barbell.

A couple of our favorite variations are Safety Bar good-mornings, and hand supported squats.

With my first pregnancy, I didn’t have the choice to workout. I had complete #placentaprevia. So this pregnancy is my first to get the opportunity to workout while pregnant. And I’ve found it challenging.

First trimester, workouts didn’t happen. I was so sick and tired. I’m finally feeling good, but keeping my heart rate in check and finding movement that doesn’t make my pelvic floor uncomfortable is hard. I do love rowing though! My goal is get that 5,000m under 20min.
