[03/30/20]   A message from Coach Zimini,
I truly hope this message finds you ALL healthy and safe.
Please be sure to continue to practice social distancing, washing your hands and NOT touching your face. I am thinking about the safety of our hockey family every day. Please stay safe and HEALTHY.
With school canceled I am sure that you are getting bored. Do not be tempted to do crazy thing that might put you in a bad health risk situation.
First, I wanted to reach out to our SJP hockey family to express our CONGRATULATIONS to the SJP Varsity for giving us an exciting and successful season. Although it was a disappointing ending, it was an exciting season filled with lots of great moments.
For the graduating seniors it is a bitter sweet ending as many of them realize that it is the end of a glorious high school hockey career. All our seniors should be proud of their careers at SJP! I know that I am proud of each and every one of them. I also know that Coach Hanson and the varsity coaching staff are all proud of the hard work they put in to make this season a success.
As Coaches we understand what it takes to be successful. The entire Varsity team should be proud of their season. Success does not necessarily, always mean winning championship. But rather what was positively gained while on the road to a potential championship. The experience of playing at the top of our game. Against the BEST hockey teams the state of Massachusetts has to offer. Learning how to depend on your teammates, displaying good sportsmanship, receiving the support of our coaches, parents and fans are all part of the equation. But most importantly are the life memories gained through the experience. Memories obtained from forming lifelong friendships, camaraderie between players, coaches, families and friends are undeniably immeasurable. Cherish these moments as they will be with you for a lifetime.

As for the current Coronavirus situation, I am doing well. My wife and daughters have put me under "house arrest"! They think I'm an at risk senior citizen... LOL!!! I haven't had any face to face contact with anyone (except my wife) in 9 days!
Even before that I was practicing safe "social distancing", limited shopping and practicing healthy hygiene by constantly washing my hands. Since the house arrest, I've been completely isolated along with my wife.
My oldest daughter and her family (including 2 granddaughters) have been self quarantined. Not because they are sick. Fortunately, they are very healthy, but they have a 4 month old that has not been fully immunized and is at risk. They work from home and are all safe.
My youngest daughter is a nurse at Beverly hospital and is doing GODS work. She has been quite busy and we pray that God keeps her and her fellow co workers safe.
In closing, I am praying that our hockey family are all in great health and safe. I have been in contact with Coach Hanson and the Coaching staff. They are all doing well.
Now I want to know how you are doing. Please let me know how you and your family are coping with this pandemic.
You all remain in my thoughts and prayers and I look forward to hearing from you.

This years team ranked among the best, finishing with a 14-2-3 record overall. They finished the year with the third best record of the last 17 years. The only losses were to BC high 5-4 and Xaverian 2-1. Only 2 goals separated them from an undefeated season. Congratulations to ALL of the 2019-20 SJP Freshman Hockey team on a season well played. [02/12/20]   Big WIN 5-2 for the Frosh vs Bishop Fenwick JV. Our third line exploded for 3 early Goals to set the pace. Single Gosls by Harlan Graber, Aidan LeBlanc & Michael Anthony were followed by a power play Goal by Drew McGowen and a Shorty by Jonathan Keefe. The team had a 5-0 lead before Fenwick scored. The Freshmen record now stands at an Amazing 16-2-3.

[02/10/20]   The Freshmen stumbled to a 2-1 loss vs a very aggressive Xaverian team. A little uncharacteristically FLAT in the third the SJP Frosh could only muster 3 shots on the X goalie. It marked only the second time this season that the team lost in a season that has been ranked as one of the best. Now let's see if we can bounce back with a big win today.
