Forgive me if I sound crass, but if I’m going to be a truth teller, I need to start telling the truth.

I talk to many people all day long, in my acupuncture practice, in my daily routine running errands, in my coaching practice, with my friends.

I am getting really tired of hearing the stories we tell ourselves.

How we are sick and tired of having a crappy immune system, how we are drinking at night to deal with stress and pain, how we don’t have any money to go on vacation, or to make a very important INVESTMENT in ourselves.

And then I ask a simple question; ‘What are YOU going to do about it?”

The response can go one of two ways.
1) A response of excuses and reasons to stay safe and do nothing, (aka, the stories).
2) A response that involves taking massive action.

For the #1 responses, I used to nod and smile, give the compassionate head tilt, listen and offer space. But honestly, I don’t have the bandwidth to do this anymore. I just “DON’T GOT TIME FOR THAT".

I am committed to being a guide for people to get better, be healthier, and become so confident that NOTHING will ever stand in their way.

So, if you see me, know that I will offer you love, support you, but I will call you out on your excuses and reasoning for staying small. People have given me that gift, and I am committed to paying it forward.

No more excuses.

Winter Is Coming! -


Do you ever get them?

Vulnerability hangovers are when you take a big leap in taking action and it involves you being vulnerable.

Example: many of my posts lately result in me having a vulnerability hangover after.

"What did I do?". "I feel so embarrassed". "That was the wrong decision".

I'm hearing from you lately, and I know taking action can be terrifying. Some of you have said that you don't know why you're reaching out, but you feel called to. But still, it feels uncomfortable.

Know that after taking a leap, a risk, implementing big change into your system, your mind will do everything it can to keep things status quo. You will question yourself, have regrets for speaking out, you'll say, 'just kidding', and try to weasel out of the discomfort.

When you recognize stagnant qi in your system as being the norm, then the sudden movement will be uncomfortable.

No recovering couch potato has reported that the first workout feels comfortable.

Know that this is the beginning of growth. The beginning of a huge leap. The claiming or reclaiming of your confidence and health, for the rest of your life.

Keep the faith.

Last year, I went on a silent meditation retreat. When I returned, I was talking with someone who had asked me about it. She instantly replied, ‘Oh, I don’t think I would want to be alone in my thoughts for that long; that sounds frightening’.

We laughed about it, but the reality is, many of us are too afraid of who we truly are.

As we go into the winter months, (the season of the kidney and fear), many people say that they notice more fear. Fear of what the darker months may bring, fear of any unpleasant emotions that the summer months, (the season of the Heart and joy), often brush over.
Those repressed emotions cause stagnation in the body, which can manifest as physical symptoms: (who watched This is Us on Tuesday night? hint: Rebecca’s repressed emotions of the past and all the tylenol she takes today as a result).

My clients often report that after resolving some inner conflict, their sciatica, migraines, or digestive problems go away.

Consider this nugget a little pre-winter gift. ;)

DO YOU GET JEALOUS OF OTHERS' SUCCESS? Do you compare yourself to your friends or sisters and measure their success against yours?

Jealousy is rooted in fear. In this case, being jealous of someone else is fear of not being good enough, or not being loved if you are not as successful as others. In Chinese Medicine, fear is associated with the kidney channel. The kidneys are the anchor of the body, the powerhouse.

Having an excess of jealousy or fear will zap your confidence, as well as your Kidney Qi. My clients succeed because we work on the anchor, or foundation, using Chinese Medicine for balance and wellness, while working on leveraging empowerment and self confidence.

I love October. I'm always happy when it arrives and sad when it leaves. This year we were blessed with almost every kind of weather in October except for snow! I try to get out and take lots of pictures in October when the light and color are good, but this year not so much. So here's an oldie but a goodie! Happy Halloween! 👻🍁🍂🎃💀

Truth be told, I wanted to close my Boston office long before I actually did.

Just when I thought I was getting close, I’d get a celebrity athlete for a patient, an invite to join a beautiful new space, or a patient begging me to never leave.

All great fodder for my ego, but not really a strong enough argument to stay.

I felt inauthentic, and that showed in how I felt and practiced: I was so tired and drained, and operated my practice from a state of lack and not from a state of confidence.

Once I got the support I needed and started taking my wellness journey seriously, I had the confidence to close the Boston office and follow my dream of being a coach and practicing locally.

I have never once looked back.

When someone tells me that don’t think they can quit their job, or become a mom athlete, I tell that story. Dreams are born when we are confident, and confidence is radiated from within when we have our healthy foundation.

If you are seeking that healthy foundation to a more confident life, I want to talk to you this week. I have something really excited to share.

Do you ever take unplanned detours in your life because it makes you happy?

I do it quite often.

Over the weekend, I met up with a good friend and her two kids for a walk at a farm in Lincoln, MA. On the way home from the farm, I saw this adorable sight-a big white dog in the middle of hundreds of chickens.

I knew I had to pull over.

When I approached the field, the dog saw me and right away came to greet me. The chickens followed.

The dog was so sweet, a perfect shepherd for his girls, the chickens. And he was tolerant, too. The chickens pecked at him the entire time I was there and it didn't phase him.

I'm an animal lover, and seeing cuteness with animals will always make me stop. It was also a great opportunity to take in the beautiful fall day, and all of the surroundings. I left feeling a fullness in my heart; seeing a great friend, her sweet children, an adorable pup, and his pesky, yet endearing chickens in one afternoon.

Happy Friday, everyone! So excited to have so many new followers lately! I thought I’d re-introduce myself.

My name is Angela Noelle Martin, and I am an Intuitive Wellness Coach, Licensed Acupuncturist, and Herbalist. My passion is to help empower women by becoming their most healthiest, confident selves.

My mission is to help as many people as I can through Coaching and Acupuncture. I’ve been a clinician for almost 11 years, and in the last year, discovered that Intuitive Wellness Coaching is my passion. I am fortunate enough to say that I love my work with every inch of my soul.

In addition to working with coaching clients privately, I am offering a group program called ‘The Fertility Empowerment School’. This program is geared for driven, entrepreneurial women who are planning on starting their families in 6m-2y, and want to be healthy in mind, body and spirit when the time comes to start conceiving.

Currently, I am residing in Acton, MA, with my husband and rescue cat and dog. I love spending a lot of time outside and am winter sports obsessed. My life is full.

As Fall approaches, it’s important to remember that now is the time to really nourish ourselves and our immune system. I love Chinese Medicine because it explains so many things so well, like the role of the lungs in the Fall. Fall is the time of the Lungs, meaning, the lungs are vulnerable and need extra attention. It makes sense because this is the time when people start to fall sick with cold symptoms. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Take extra care in the fall and winter will be your friend! Here are a few things you can do right now to strengthen your immune system:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1) Take herbs: Herbs like echinacea and astragalus are great for strengthening the immune system. ⠀
2) Continue movement: In addition to all the reasons we know exercise is good for us, exercise is also great for getting the blood moving and sweating, which help remove toxins from the bloodstream. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3) Warm it up: After a summer of salads and cooler beverages, now is the time to warm up the diet. Learn intuitive eating; if cold cereal doesn’t sound appealing on a cold morning, it probably isn’t good. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
