NGE ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT: @tbowen2028 Travis Bowen
Travis has always been all in when it comes to life, even more so when it comes to sports. He's been involved with sports since he was 4 years old with flag football. From early on football has been his favorite sport. He plays for the Marlboro Panthers as a lineman on both offense and defense. He is not afraid to speak up and take a leadership role on his team, and always encourages his teammates win or lose.
Even though he will tell you that football is his favorite sport, he also enjoys Lacrosse and Basketball. He plays for Marlboro-Hudson LAX as a defender and a center for the Blazers AAU Basketball team.
Travis started working with NGE last Spring with trench training. He has been fortunate through that training to meet a great group of coaches that have helped him improve his skills as an athlete and lineman. He has been training hard over this past year and his efforts have paid off making the Mass Elite football team 6th grade team, as a 5th grader and more recently being selected to be a part of cM Select Spring Rockhoppers team.
During this past year of school it has been a challenge with remote learning, he has become an asset to his class and teachers as someone they can rely on to fully participate in the lessons. This has reflected on his report card with him making the honor roll this year.
We are proud to be his parents and look forward to the years ahead watching him grow as a young man and athlete.

When working with young Athletes you always have that 1 thats stands out from the crowd . Travis is a complete stand out , His attitude is the best among his peers . A born leader . A very hard working individual . A sponge who strives to be better every day . Travis is very coachable and asks questions and wants to be tweaked . He cares about playing sports the right way and doing the little things . No matter what team he ends up on he will make them all better . I truly enjoy working with Travis , He makes all the lessons fun . Be sure to watch his progression and he will definitely be someone to watch down the road .

Travis passed the eye test the first time he stepped foot on the turf at an NGE Event.
Travis began regularly training with NGE working mostly Linemen training and our 3030 Training during the spring and his size and motor immediately caught my eye. Travis then attended a number of Spring Football evaluations where I got to see a young man give his best effort each and every rep.
Recently Travis joined my Introduction to strength training program at Total Athletic Performance in Acton and has improved his strength training techniques and understanding of proper training tremendously. Within the last 5 weeks I've gotten to know Travis person and getting to figuring out what drives him and it's knowledge.
Travis thirsty for knowledge. He wants to learn .

It is imperative that young athletes are taught proper technique when it comes to resistance / strength training. Compounding bad movements with excessive reps and zero attention to detail will most certainly lead to injuries in the weight room and/or on the field of play.
