"A Positive Place for Kids"
Boys & Girls Club of Ada is a member of the Boys & Girls Club of America. We are a non-profit agency that provide a variety of programs and services for youth across Ada and Pontotoc County. The Club has been around since 1962. Our purpose is to provide "Positive Place for Kids" by offering structured programs and services designed to promote educational and social growth for youth ages 4-18 aftter school and all day during summer months.
WHAT WE DO Education & Career Programs These programs help youth create aspirations for the future, providing opportunities for career exploration and educational enhancement. Character & Leadership Programs Helping youth become responsible, caring citizens and acquire skills for participating in the democratic process is the main thrust of these programs. They also develop leadership skills and provide opportunities for planning, decision-making, contributing to Club and community and celebrating our national heritage. Health & Life Skills These initiatives develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults. The Arts Programs Programs in this core area enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing. Sports, Fitness and Recreation These Club programs help develop fitness, a positive use of leisure time, reduction of stress, appreciation for the environment and social and interpersonal skills. Specialized Programs These initiatives focus on meeting the significant and specific needs identified within Boys & Girls Clubs. Their broad scope complements several or all of our core program areas.
Mission: To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens

Coming up in November, the Club is running a contest for 5th grade and higher members: Fantasy Stockmarket. Kinda like Fantasy Basketball's nerdy cousin that got an MBA, you are given $100,000 fake dollars to invest in the stockmarket. Manage your portfoloio, make the trades, buy low and sell high... and at the end, the kid with the highest valued portfolio wins!
Will you diversify? Will you go long on Amazon? Gamble big on a penny stock? The choice is yours!
Kids can head to the following link to sign up
And any adults who want to play can run their portfolio in the following game for bragging rights. Can you manage your investments better than a seventh grader?
We love building great futures!
