"A Positive Place for Kids"
Boys & Girls Club of Ada is a member of the Boys & Girls Club of America. We are a non-profit agency that provide a variety of programs and services for youth across Ada and Pontotoc County. The Club has been around since 1962. Our purpose is to provide "Positive Place for Kids" by offering structured programs and services designed to promote educational and social growth for youth ages 4-18 aftter school and all day during summer months.
WHAT WE DO Education & Career Programs These programs help youth create aspirations for the future, providing opportunities for career exploration and educational enhancement. Character & Leadership Programs Helping youth become responsible, caring citizens and acquire skills for participating in the democratic process is the main thrust of these programs. They also develop leadership skills and provide opportunities for planning, decision-making, contributing to Club and community and celebrating our national heritage. Health & Life Skills These initiatives develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults. The Arts Programs Programs in this core area enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing. Sports, Fitness and Recreation These Club programs help develop fitness, a positive use of leisure time, reduction of stress, appreciation for the environment and social and interpersonal skills. Specialized Programs These initiatives focus on meeting the significant and specific needs identified within Boys & Girls Clubs. Their broad scope complements several or all of our core program areas.
Mission: To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens
In keeping with our dedication to the wellbeing of all of the kids that come to our club, and in accordance with the recommendations of the CDC, State Department of Education, and the President of the United States, we will be closing our doors until April 6.
During this time, while we cannot watch over our kids, we can attempt to watch out for them, and will be relaying any and all information for any help, services, and assistance that we find to you through this page and other channels.
Please try to stay safe during these troubling times, follow the medical recommendations of the CDC, and be healthy.
We want to wish all of our teams good luck who are headed to state today! Go get ‘em! Here’s a list of the teams!
**!!UPDATE!!** We have a placeholder site in place that does most of what our old one did, and is available now until we can get our old one back up and going.

So, ever notice how bad things come in threes? Well, we got hit by three of them for Basketball.
First, we had delays in confirming venues for games and practices that delayed our start into the new year.
Second, due to inventory issues, our uniforms were back-ordered, then the line cancelled, and finally had to be reordered and now won't make it here until our second game.
Thirdly, our athletic director, (thoughts and prayers, Michelle!) came down deathly sick while trying to get our (now greatly delayed) schedules out, then got into a car wreck on the way from the doctor...
It hasn't been our month, that's for sure, but suffice it to say, we are dedicated to our kids, our coaches, and our league, and games will be happening in accordance with the schedule that has been posted.
We have colored pinnies for players to wear in the first week's games, but the new uniforms should be here by the second week.
Our 1st-4th grade kids have a message to tell Gateway Mortgage for donating $2,000 to the Club! We are so thankful!

Ada Tumbling- Please share
Looking forward: At Ada Tumbling we have BIG dreams.... We see a future that entails a much needed women’s competitive gymnastics program in the Ada Area and surrounding communities. Our community has many talented children whose lives could be enhanced through the experiences gymnastics has to offer. Until then, Coach Lorianne is wasting no time in training her students with this end in mind.
My name is Lorianne Towers and I am the head coach at Ada Tumbling. I started tumbling at age six. I coached in Sulphur for a competitive team at Tumbling Plus and founded First Place Gymnastics Center in Ada. This past August I founded Ada Tumbling at the Boys and Girls Club. I have over twenty years of experience coaching tumbling/gymnastics helping students learn how to control their bodies, as well as their minds. Tumbling and gymnastics have been my constant through everything else. It is the one thing that has always been there for me. It has inspired confidence in me and I want to help others feel that same confidence. When I teach, I feel like I can really connect with my students and help them see the things that they can really do. Tumbling brings me joy and I want to share this joy with others.
At Ada Tumbling we strive to teach students the basics of tumbling, focusing on good habits and proper form. Some of the many skills we focus on are handstands, forward/backward rolls, bridges, cartwheels, one-handed cartwheels, roundoffs, back walkovers, aerials, front/back handsprings and front/back tucks. Levels include Parent and Me for walking to three, Kinder Tumble for ages 3-5, Beginner Tumbling for 6 and up, and Intermediate Tumbling with no specific age requirement, though placement is at the discretion of Coach Lorianne.
Our mission at Ada Tumbling is to teach our youth in the basics of tumbling, providing a strong foundation of skills, while also helping them learn that they can move out of their comfort zone, physically, mentally, and emotionally, making things that seem impossible, possible.
To enroll in one of our Kinder Tumble, Beginner or Intermediate tumbling classes, Call/Text/PM Coach Lorianne Towers @ 580-665-7230 or visit http://www.bgcada.com/adatumbling/online to register. Ada Tumbling is located at 915 S. Hickory Ada, Okla.
It's GIVING Tuesday! Please consider giving an end of the year gift to the Boys & Girls Club by clicking the donate button! Thank you!!!

Big/Little Ballers Update:
Our registration period ran longer than other local clubs, so it is taking longer for us to get started than them. Practice and game schedules will hopefully be posted soon. The league is very much ongoing, and games will happen.
Some teams came with their own coaches, but many individual players had to be drafted onto teams, and had no coaches, which we have to solicit, as volunteers, so while some teams are ready to play now, some kids don't have coaches yet. We still need one, preferably two, more coaches for Little Ballers, and while we’re sure some will step up, you can expedite this process and get us playing ball faster by volunteering to coach one of these teams, or suggesting someone who will (just contact us to let us know if you’re interested). .
We understand that everyone is ready to get to playing, and our silence up until now might have been troubling, but we want to reiterate the dedication we have to all of our kids, and to this program.
See you court-side!
Just a reminder that there is still plenty of time left to get onboard for our Fantasy Stockmarket game, with a prize up for grabs for club kids!
