Ada Boys and Girls Club

"A Positive Place for Kids"

Boys & Girls Club of Ada is a member of the Boys & Girls Club of America. We are a non-profit agency that provide a variety of programs and services for youth across Ada and Pontotoc County. The Club has been around since 1962. Our purpose is to provide "Positive Place for Kids" by offering structured programs and services designed to promote educational and social growth for youth ages 4-18 aftter school and all day during summer months.

WHAT WE DO
Education & Career Programs
These programs help youth create aspirations for the future, providing opportunities for career exploration and educational enhancement.

Character & Leadership Programs
Helping youth become responsible, caring citizens and acquire skills for participating in the democratic process is the main thrust of these programs. They also develop leadership skills and provide opportunities for planning, decision-making, contributing to Club and community and celebrating our national heritage.

Health & Life Skills
These initiatives develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.

The Arts Programs
Programs in this core area enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.

Sports, Fitness and Recreation
These Club programs help develop fitness, a positive use of leisure time, reduction of stress, appreciation for the environment and social and interpersonal skills.

Specialized Programs
These initiatives focus on meeting the significant and specific needs identified within Boys & Girls Clubs. Their broad scope complements several or all of our core program areas.

Mission: To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens

MoWo Gaming

We always try new ways to reach kids and turn them into outstanding citizens of society, so this is a trendy new way of doing so. They had an awesome first day of practice and their comradery continued after the videogames were put down. Next door in our gym they played a fun physical game of Foam Battle Royale to stretch their legs. The League's website just got revamped, so check out the link or like their page to stay updated.

How do you teach sportsmanship to kids who don't play sports?
The MoWo Gaming League answers this question by reaching out to the youth who spend more time on a digital battlefield than a grassy soccer field.
With E-Sports, we teach them to work together with others, communicate with their mouths not their thumbs, how to show support for teammates and to win or lose with dignity. Ada Boys and Girls Club has been a great help in our efforts and we hope to continue growing E-Sports in Oklahoma.
