Well the race is less than one week away and is shaping up to be bigger than last years trophies for kids classes are doubled from last year and we'll the the stock 360 is huge with all 16 spots getting there entry back top spot taking home $500$ 400 2nd, 300 3rd, 200 4th, and 100 for 5th that's $1500$ just to the top 5. 6th $90, 7th 80, 8th 70, 9th 65, 10th 60, 11th 55, 12th 50, 13th 45, 14th 40, 15th 35, and 16th 30 entry fee is 30$ for this class and all entry fees will go directly to the Western New York Veterans Housing Coalition. You must be 18 yrs. or older to race in this class:

1. A lawnmower engine not exceeding 30 hp
2. Live axles allowed
3. Internal engine modifications will be allowed.

The Following are REQUIRED for all classes:

a. A PROPER FITTING D.O.T Approved Helmet with straps.
b. Eye Protection AND NO OPEN TOED SHOES is a must for every driver.
c. Tether switches NOT exceeding 55 inches in length
d. Bumpers: Front: Must be no wider than width of inside the front wheels, with them turned inward. Back: No wider than the center of rear wheels.
e. Nerf Bars
f. Electric starting engine with a charged battery.
g. Working brakes. “Brakes that stop the machine”
h. The RIGHT FRONT tire of ALL machines must contain a tube or a bead lock rim.
i. The machine must be made from a lawnmower or lawn tractor.
j. A Minimum of a 3-inch number must be placed on the right side and the rear of your mower and must be highly visible.
k. Fuel line clamps on all line connections from the fuel tank to the carburetor. A fuel shutoff valve must be installed as close to the tank as possible while allowing easy access to shut it off in case of fire or emergency.
l. Lawnmower TURF tires ONLY for all classes except “UL”
m. The shifting control knob of ALL machines except chain drives and unlimited must not be recessed below the top of the frame box.

You must be 7- 14 yrs. Or younger to race in this class unless the person is 13 and has 2 years of racing time with Southern Tier Mower Sports and the parent or guardian allow them to move to an upper class:

1. A 14hp or lower single cylinder lawnmower engine.
2. No larger than a 5in. pulley on the engine.
3. No smaller than a 3in. pulley on the transmission.
4. Stock type muffler.
5. NO off set flywheel keys.
6. Pump Gas Only: only additive allowed is stabilizer.
7. Governor must be connected and fully functioning with maximum rpm UNDER NO LOAD from the motor of 3600.
8. NO INTERNAL ENGINE MODIFICATIONS ALLOWED.
9. Mower must appear as a stock lawnmower.

The following are REQUIRED:

a. A PROPER FITTING D.O.T Approved Helmet with straps, Neck Brace and Tech Vest.
b. Eye protection AND NO OPEN TOED SHOES is a must for every driver.
c. Tether switches NOT exceeding 55 inches in length
d. Bumpers: Front: Must be no wider than the width of the inside wheels, when turned inward. Back: No wider than the center of the rear tires.
e. Nerf Bars

p. Open or straight pipe exhaust is allowed for all classes but it must be securely fastened to the chassis and pointed in a safe direction.
q. Mandatory Neck Brace, Chest Protector and Helmet for All Racer.

KIDS: Modified (up to 14HP)

1. 14-17 years of age.
2. Governed 5-3 pulleys
3. Pit Boss and or Safety Tech reserves the right for a 14 year old to race in class based on
Experience or ability.
4. Follow same rules as old goat class except as those stated here.
5. Stock type muffler

6. All other rules for this class are under the single flathead class apply but those stated above.

The following are REQUIRED:

a. A PROPER FITTING D.O.T. Approved Helmet with Straps. Neck brace and Tech Vest
b. Eye Protection AND NO OPEN TOED SHOES is a must for every driver.
c. Tether switches. NOT TO EXCEED 55 INCHES

k. Fuel line clamps on all line connections from the fuel tank to the carburetor. A fuel shutoff valve must be installed as close to the tank as possible while allowing easy access to shut it off in case of fire or emergency.
l. Lawnmower TURF tires ONLY for all classes except “UL”
m. The shifting control knob of ALL machines except chain drives and unlimited must not be recessed below the top of the frame box.
n. Handlebars are allowed.

o. Aluminum rims are allowed

p. Car type steering mechanisms are allowed.
q. Custom modified front steering axles in all classes for safety. NO spindle bending will be permitted although gusseting the spindle is allowed. Custom front axles can be constructed as long as they are NOT made in such a way as to provide significant benefit to the machine or driver other than safety.
r. Chassis box cutting and lowering for stability is allowed.
s. The bottom of the bumpers must be as close to but not exceeding 8 inches up from the ground. They must also be at least a mass of 4 inches of pipe, flat stock or steel tubing. They must be bolted or welded on securely. No sharp edges allowed.
t. Overall width of machine shall not exceed 45 inches.

u. Nerf bars must be present on the sides of the mower and be a mass of at least 4 inches of either pipe or flat stock and be no higher off the ground than 8 inches. They must also be
bolted or welded on to the frame securely. No sharp edges allowed. If you have modified your front axle then it must be approved by the Pit Boss to race.
v. Open or straight pipe exhaust is allowed for all classes but it must be securely fastened to the chassis and pointed in a safe direction.
w. Mandatory Neck Brace, Chest Protector and Helmet for All.

If you get caught running an illegally built mower for your race class then you will be disqualified and any and all trophies, ribbons and points for the day’s events will be taken away pending a full investigation and decision by the officers. See drawing for specific diagrams for Safety Equipment.

TWIN CLASS:

1. You must be 18 yrs. or older to race in this class:
2. Twin opposed or Twin Over-Head Valve lawnmower engine not to exceed 24hp.
3. No internal engine modifications.
4. Front axle sway stops are permitted.
5. No live axles allowed. Can only have transaxle.
6. Pump gas only: Only additives allowed is stabilizer.

The following are REQUIRED for all classes
a. A PROPER FITTING D.O.T Approved Helmet with straps. Neck Brace and Tech Vest.
b. Eye Protection AND NO OPEN TOED SHOES is a must for every driver.
