"The essential joy of being with horses is that it brings us in contact with the rare elements of grace, beauty, spirit, and fire." author unknown We invite you to come experience the joy of horses!

Warning: tried to keep it short- but there’s so much to say!

Alex started riding with us about 6 years ago. The first lesson she had, I didn’t think she would be back. Boy was I wrong. Alex and her family have embraced this world, the process and the love for horses and the American Saddlebred.

At only 13- Alex embraces all aspects of the horse. From the ground to on their backs. She is all in. She helps whenever and wherever she can and is kind to the other riders. Most importantly she is hungry to learn as much as possible.

2 years ago on a spur of the moment trip I went to the Robertson sale in Kentucky and picked out Coco. A Bay, 5 gaited mare. I did an insane amount of research on this horse. We went to the sale, we bid on her and the odds being in our favor, she came home.

Coco hadn’t been home long before I told Alex to get on her. Keep in mind, at this point Alex was only showing in Walk and Trot Academy. In true Alex fashion, she kept quiet and climbed on. Their first ride together was by no means perfect- but, it was BEAUTIFUL. We knew exactly what was in store for their future.

Alex had a long road ahead of her. She spent the next year figuring out Coco and pushing herself to be the rider I knew she could be. There were many obstacles and hurtles we had to jump. A lot of ups and downs, and a few tears shed in this process. But, Alex and her family knew and understood and believed in the process.

One Saturday in December 2018, the light bulb went off. Alex and Coco finally had the ride they had been working towards. It was beautiful, exciting and emotional. And each ride after only got better.

2019 show season came around and it was their time. The first show had us all in a nervous sweat. The only goal was to go in and come out safely and respectfully... Coco, although safe, is not the easiest horse under saddle. They went in and came out just as we asked in one piece, and looked, for the most part, in control. With each passing show, they only got better. They ended the season winning the Carolina Summer Circuit championship which for all of us was so much more than a win.

I have watched Alex and her family fall in love with the sweet, exquisite, bay mare that stands in our barn. The way Coco lights up when her “people” show up is so gratifying. We have all dreamed about the possibility of Coco one day being their horse.

Well...I’m beyond excited to announce and congratulate the Godlewski’s on their newest addition to their family! CC Common Love!!
