Afton Red Socks Base Ball Club

Can you send me an email so I can invite Afton to a tournament in Nashville in 2020?
If fox9 news shows up to your game either September 21st or 28th as a sneak peak to next year's home town ball series ...... it's not my fault.
Looking forward to having you guys play at Derby Days in Bayport this year. I see, however, that the date is incorrect on your page. It is Sept 21. 😊

Here's the story Fox Sports North did on vintage baseball ⚾️ 😊

[04/20/20]   Players and Fans -

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions we are aligning with our fellow MN Area VBBA teams to cancel all events previously planned for May. At this point we all remain optimistic that we can play in June, but we will reassess given the dynamic situation.

Save the date (for now) for the Afton Red Socks matches planned for June:
- Saturday, June 13 at Pettit Park vs. Mankato
- Saturday, June 27 at Pettit Park vs. La Crescent

We will post updated information as we continue forward. We love baseball, but take the health and safety of players and fans seriously. Your support in these challenging times is appreciated.

Base ball mimics life once again.

It's all in how you look at it!

Here's why the NL doesn't have the DH

MLB actually gives a good account of the eve lotion of the DH. The debate started in 1892 according to the article’s description. In March of 1892, a resolution to exempt pitchers from having to bat in Major League games narrowly fell, seven votes to five. In February 1906, the following paragraph appeared in an issue of the newspaper Sporting Life: > The suggestion, often made, that the pitcher be denied a chance

Hey Red Socks, if you’re interested in learning how to make your very own vintage baseball, contact Goose (Corky Gaskell). He will be hosting an event in Northfield at 9am on Saturday, March 21.

Due to forecasted rain, this weekend’s games in East Bethel have been cancelled. Stay tuned in, for the Rum River Rovers are thinking of rescheduling in October.

One of the truest great things about playing vintage base ball is the family we become, on and off the field. Even greater, is to see sons play with their fathers, daughters with mothers, kids with parents. There is a special connection that base ball does to bond an already good relationship more. Too all of those family combinations, past and future, thanks for making vintage base ball great!

To Vladdy,

Love, Tu padre

Charles M. Schulz Museum

Baseball season is back! ⚾ The Peanuts Gang may have lost nearly every baseball game they played but through those games, Charles Schulz has taught us one of the most important lessons in life: never give up. This strip is from March 24, 1987.

“I could draw baseball strips every day; it really is funny. It just works better than any other sport. Baseball is ideal because little kids do play at that age. And they aren’t very good. But they do suffer at it.” —Charles M. Schulz
