⛳ Hook A Kid on Golf – Another Great Summer at Houndslake!

There are few things more rewarding than seeing young golfers discover a love for this game.

This week, Houndslake Country Club was proud to once again host the Aiken Hook A Kid on Golf program—a tradition we've been honored to be part of for more than 15 summers. Watching dozens of kids pick up a club, make new friends, build confidence, and learn the values of golf is a reminder of why this program is so important.

Golf teaches so much more than how to hit a ball. It instills honesty, respect, patience, perseverance, and sportsmanship—life lessons that extend far beyond the course. Programs like Hook A Kid on Golf help introduce the next generation to a game they can enjoy for a lifetime, regardless of age or ability.

A huge thank you to the dedicated volunteers, instructors, parents, and the Aiken Hook A Kid on Golf organization for investing in our community's youth. It is truly an honor for Houndslake Country Club to play a small part in helping grow the game and create lasting memories for these young golfers.

We can't wait to welcome everyone back next summer!

⛳ Greens Aerification Begins Next Week ⛳

As part of our ongoing Greens Improvement Plan, we will be aerifying our greens early next week (estimated Monday–Wednesday).
While this process may temporarily impact course conditions, it is one of the most important investments we can make in the long-term health and playability of our putting surfaces. We will make every effort to keep 9 holes open for play whenever possible during the process.
The good news? 🌱 This time of year provides ideal growing conditions, allowing the greens to recover much faster than they would during cooler months.

Join the team at Houndslake Country Club in Aiken, SC! We're looking for an experienced irrigation technician to help maintain and improve our 18-hole golf facility through August.
