Washington East SC Player Development Program’s (PDP) primary objective is to introduce players to the basic technical skills and training habits required for playing competitive soccer. While there is increased competition, our emphasis is on developing complete and confident players who are not afraid to take risks. The format of PDP encourages players to master ball-handling techniques and individual player creativity in a fun, yet educational environment.

This program is focused on players born in 2013-2011 (U8 - U10) looking for a challenging and fun environment to better their competitive soccer skills.

This introductory training program is a great way to see what WE-PDP is about. New players will have the opportunity to train alongside current WE players and coaches in our PDP program. Trainings will be regionalized in the Spokane area. Players welcome to join all sessions and all locations. Sessions will be held in the Spokane Valley, North/Central Spokane.

During these tough economic times and uncertainty regarding Covid-19, WE have decided to offer this fall training academy program at no cost to new players and teams. Because this no cost option is being offered, individuals and teams are encouraged to register as soon as possible as space is limited. ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE EMAIL [email protected] “GO WE”

REPORT: Spokane Primed for USL Franchise if Downtown Stadium Approved

We all love Spokane. We all cherish the great things we get to do and see here, and because we live here, we also know the incredible potential this city has to become even greater.

Opportunities such as this don't come around often. There is growing interest from many sports organizations to have a presence here, and the United Soccer League is one of them. They are passionate about our community and working together to elevate the sport of soccer and our local economy. The beauty in this project is it's not just about soccer. Local high school football teams will play here, lacrosse teams, perhaps even baseball teams.

Washington East SC wants to recognize one of our particularly important coaches, Chris Lucas! Chris has been with the WE from the start of the club back in 2011. He went from being our soccer player to being our soccer coach! During his WE playing years Chris always played at the National level competing against the best! From 2013-15 he also played with the Greater Northern League and was 1st team for 2 of the years. After HS Chris played soccer at Spokane Falls Community College in 2016-2017 and is now pursing his Business degree at Eastern Washington University. CHRIS KNOWS HIS SOCCER AND KNOWS THE WE! Chris has coached for the WE since 2014! He has been involved with many different age groups. The particular importance of Chris is how he helps our players develop and move to the next level! In the last 2 years alone Chris has been responsible for helping 13 (B) team players move to (A) teams! THANK YOU CHRIS! Chris is currently the Assistant Mens Coach at SFCC and we are excited he will be coaching with the WE2003 and 2004 HS boys! For Chris’s full bio go to wesoccer.org (coaches&staff) #washingtoneastsoccerclub #soccer #pspl #wefamily #weproud #wearewashingtoneast

Washington East SC is proud to have Micah Prim as one of our awesome soccer coaches on staff! With his 9 years of coaching experience and his earned USSF National D license we are excited to have him continue to work with the 2005 HS boys group! BUT with Micah, there’s more than meets the eye! When he is not working with his WE kids he is protecting our city! Micah is currently one of Spokane’s downtown neighborhood police officers!
Micah is specially trained in enhanced crisis intervention, he is the assistant instructor for the Youth and Police Initiative where he speaks and works with high school students all over the city, and he is the assistant instructor for the Spokane Police Youth boxing league in downtown Spokane which mentors at risk youth. Micah also served as a military police officer from 2002 till 2007 and was deployed to Iraq in Baghdad for a year. Thank you Micah for ALL your services to our youth and to our city! We are lucky to have you in our WE family! #washingtoneastsoccerclub #wefamily #weproud #pspl #soccer #wearewashingtoneast

It is with great pleasure to welcome James Williamson to our coaching staff. James is native of the area. Growing up in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, he graduated from Lake City High School. Played soccer all 4 years and was named 1st team all-league and offensive MVP as a senior. With his family still in the area, James is excited to return home and be involved with our club.

James is a decorated alumni of the Corban University Warrior men’s soccer team and played four years (2012-15) as a center back for the Navy and Gold. During that time, he was a three-time All-Conference selection.

James has extensive experience as a young coach. With a resume that bolsters our staff’s lineup. The hire shows a continued commitment to our players success. James will be a valuable asset to all of our families and players in the club.

James most recently led Corban University Men’s Soccer program to an undefeated regular season. Its first regular season conference title in six years. The first conference tournament title in three years. The first time sweeping both since 2013. The programs eight consecutive berth in the NAIA National tournament.

Prior to his time at Corban. James was part of a major improvement in wins and losses at Northwest Nazarene University Women’s Soccer program. Going from 4-5 game winning seasons to 8 and 11 wins a season is a great accomplishment.

James experience isn’t limited to just the college side. He has extensive experience in club coaching as well. He has a passion for helping in the development of both the boys and girls side of the game. Making him a great addition to WE’s staff.

Technical Director, Chad Brown has great enthusiasm regarding this hire.

“I’m very excited about the hiring of James. Our conversations were typically regarding college recruiting. The last time he called. The conversation took an entirely different direction. I’m eager to have him dive right in with our players and coaches. He will add a lot of value helping influence our club. He’s an example of WE continuing to push to new heights.”

“Our philosophy on leadership and player development align. We are both passionate about positively impacting our community. Providing players with opportunities to help them achieve their goals and dreams, drives both of us.”

James says

“I’m very thankful and excited to be joining WE. Our philosophy on values and development are in great alignment and I have a ton of confidence in the direction and long term vision that Chad and the board have professed. I am looking forward to being part of what is to come”
