Today, BWE completed another Fall Hiking Spree Hike at F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm! We did 2.4 miles between the Fenwood and Seneca Trails. It was perfect day for a fall!

Short but sweet rainy day hike at Firestone Metro Park. The fall colors really showed out over the two mile walk.

It’s been a little quiet in these parts, but we kicked off this year’s Fall Hiking Spree at Deep Lock Quarry Metro Park. We couldn’t have asked for a better morning. ☺️

We’ve been a little quiet on the social media, but we’ve still been going on adventures. This morning, we took a brisk stroll through Springfield Bog. It was perfect way to kick off a Sunday morning.

We’re excited to announce that after 3.5 years in existence, we finally built out our own website! When we started this passion project in 2021, we had no idea what a beautiful community that it would become.

Today, we have around 300 women connected in our online groups, upwards of 50 regular “active” members, and have led more than 80 BWE-specific activities. This does not include activities where we partner with other groups or organizations. It’s been truly a labor of love.

By creating this website, we now have a space to talk broadly about what we do, share resources, and eventually share the stories of our members. We even plan to have a quarterly newsletter! Check out the website via the link below and in our bio!

Gorgeous day for a fall hike! For our third Fall Hiking Spree hike, we tackled O’Neil Woods Metro Parks’ Deer Run Trail. This was actually the trail that kicked off Black Women Explore over three years ago!

Second Fall Hiking Spree hike for ! Today, we tackled Hampton Hills’ Adam’s Run. It was a challenging but fun hike and we had a new explorer join us! Fall is the perfect time for hiking.

As the cooler weather takes hold and we shift into Fall Hiking Spree mode, we’re reminiscing about our time on the river with and . ☺️

Black In National Parks Week + Black Women Explore // Earlier this week, Nicole of Black In National Parks Week reached out and invited Black Women Explore to join her to kick off Black in National Parks Week by hiking OakHill and Plateau Trail in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. We had a great time meeting new people and learning from Nicole who has a robust background in environmental education. 🌲
