Its Thanksgiving. You gained weight.

any instructor who DOESN'T hammer this into their students is doing them a disservice
Tim Larkin of Target Focus Training says that when you hit another person in a fight, you can never know for certain what the effect will be:
“I like to show clients back-to-back videos in which the human body takes a tremendous amount of punishment — really good bar fights in which they’re going at it, knocking the hell out of each other. At the end [of the first one], the guys are able to get up and walk away. ‘Isn’t it amazing?’ I ask. ‘Look what the human body can take!’
“Then I show a short video of a bar fight that starts the same way. One punch and the guy hits his head on the concrete and dies. There’s silence when I do that. They realize it’s a roulette wheel every time you put your hands on somebody. If you cross the physical plane to protect yourself, you have to be OK with the fact that you or the other person could end up seriously injured or dead. The situation had better warrant it.”

So what the heck is "Martial Fitness and Defense" ?
It is a bare bones, get-straight-to-the-good-stuff, eclectic self defense program run by possibly one of the most open minded guys in the business, me.
I've got experience in:
striking (punching/kicking,making the bad guy leave you alone by hitting him with some part of your body and preventing them from doing the same to you)
submission grappling (grabbing ahold of the bad guy, throwing them on the ground, twisting up their joints and preventing them from doing the same to you)
Here's the unique part. Unlike many places offering similar training, I won't tell you what to do.
I run training like a buffet. The menu is above. You can pick and choose, mix and match as you like:
Don't want to kick? Ok. You won't kick.
Only want to wrestle? Ok. All you'll do is wrestle.
Want to do striking and wrestling but keep them separate? Ok.
Want to do striking and wrestling and mix them all together? Ok.
You come in and tell me what you want to do.
I help you do it.
If you don't have any experience, I'll show you the basics and we'll take it from there.
99% of our training is partner based. In other words, you spend the majority of your training time practicing what you want to do with someone offering a suitable amount of resistance for your experience level and vice versa.
I've got a day job, so this is dirt cheap. How cheap? It can be as little as $3 a workout.
EVERYONE gets a few free sessions in order to get used to how I run this. Its a little different than most of the martial arts industry. I want people to be comfortable with me and my approach.

Beginners are returning to Martial Fitness and Defense!
Its tough to see the sparring sessions and think "I want to train, but is the guy running the workout really going to ask me to do THAT!?"
Sure I will, but not immediately. Its one of the goals: apply the skills dynamically against a resisting training partner.
But you start working with no partner, then one that offers no resistance, then one that offers a little resistance and on and on until you CAN do what you see on Sunday.
