Tippecanoe Valley High School

Good morning! Valley Connects challenges you to join us for the 31 Day Mental Wellness Movement! We will send out one tip/activity a day! Day 1- DO A DEEP BREATHING - we have attached an easy example. Try this 3-5 minutes this morning and see how it helps you start the day! Let us know how it goes and how it makes you feel!

Enjoy this beautiful Day 1!

VALLEY CONNECTS TO HOST
THIRTY-ONE DAY
MENTAL WELLNESS INITIATIVE

Akron, IN- Valley Connects is a mental health awareness initiative that evolved from the Tippecanoe Valley Mental Health Task Force. Valley Connects’ mission is to promote, educate and advocate for positive mental health to communities surrounding the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation. The broad school-community-based advisory group consists of school based personnel (special education, counselors, mental health therapists, teachers, administration), Four County Counseling, Bowen Center for Human Services, K21 Health Foundation, Kosciusko Cares, Fulton County Systems of Care, Kosciusko County Systems of Care, Michiana Behavioral Health, community members and pastors from local churches.

In the commitment to our community during the COVID 2019 pandemic and in honor of May being recognized as “Mental Health Awareness Month”, Valley Connects is sharing ways to connect to each other even when physical distance is an issue. Valley Connects will be sharing one positive tip, thought or activity a day during the “31 Day Mental Health Wellness Movement” with the staff, students, and the community.

Follow the Valley Connects’ page or any of the following school pages: Akron Elementary, Mentone Elementary, Tippecanoe Valley Middle School, Tippecanoe Valley High School, Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation, or Valley Hometown Fund. Valley Connects ask that the community share photos or comments to let us know how the day’s activity was accomplished or their feelings for the day to build connection and community further during this unprecedented time.

For any questions or for more information, contact Lori Tilden-Geiger at [email protected] or by phone at 574-527-3000.

Jonesy's Junction

Bad news first. Due to the inclement weather we will not be open today. The last thing I need is someone to take an awning to the head. On a more positive note, we are expecting an order of brisket and chicken today, and the weather looks to be great Friday and Saturday. Saturday evening we will also have pizza as we plan to expand in this area. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we move through whatever this is. Thank you!

Tippecanoe Valley High School FFA

Big congratulations to Mr. Jones who was just voted Outstanding Ag Teacher in District II

Lewis Salvage

We will reopen for scrap drop off this Friday May 1st. Lewis Salvage will no longer be purchasing aluminum cans brought to us in plastic trash bags. Aluminum cans will be purchased for $0.20 per lb and must be in a trash can or drum that can be easily dumped into our separator/scale. This policy change is for the safety of our staff and will be in place until further notice. All visitors must comply with current CDC government guidance and follow all new contactless Lewis Salvage procedures. Thank you for your understanding.
