We will be leaving bright and early Saturday morning to head up for the mower racing this weekend. Will we be able to get in before 4pm? We are bringing our travel trailer also to camp Saturday night so need time to get it set up before the racing festivities begin.
Congratulations to Jackie and Jason Timmerman, new promoters at Akron. I was asked not to post anything until they had posted their plans for 2018. They are running both the Mini Wedges and the Mow Wheelin' Lawn Mower series, with most of the races on Sunday. They may run a few special events, which they will announce on here. As for the rest of the karts...would love to see everyone back...and if you're interested in a kart program....contact them and work something out. We will be supporting the track and ask all of you to do the same. Sunday afternoon shows will be exciting...so come on out and support the racers. If you've never seen a lawn mower race....it is different than karts. You break down on the track...they just turn the mower over and fix it, right there(if they can). The Mini Wedge karts are very interesting to watch, as well. Good luck to everyone involved in the 2018 season. It's going to be a great year.
What are the plans for the track in 2018? Need to be getting plans make for the season.
Hi everyone thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for Ben and I️. It’s going to be a hard long recovery but with the support from our family and friends and all of you we’ll make through this. Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers for us both.
Any news about this weekend? Trying to make other plans if not racing. Looks like you had a lot of rain this morning
Damn rain!
Does anybody have a set of Hoosier tires new or used on wheels? TIA

[11/02/19]   We would like to start this post by thanking all of the NIMWA patents and children, all of the I-Mow drivers and families, all of the fans and track helpers, and Stan Miller for allowing us to operate Akron Speedway for the past two years. We are sad to announce that we will not be promoting and operating the speedway for the 2020 season. Both of our boys will be moving on to other sports and other classes, combined with the craziness of our schedules, we will not be able to promote the track.
Anyone interested in purchase, lease or renting of the track can contact the owner Stan Miller @ 574-268-8536.

Thank you all for the friendships and fun.

[09/29/19]   Tomorrow’s race has officially been canceled due to the horrible weather from last night. After discussion with several mini wedge parents who have decided to pull out of tomorrow’s race due to the heat regardless if we have the race or not. We have officially decided to CANCEL! Humidity and real feel of 96 degrees is nothing to mess around with and can be very dangerous for these kids in all of their race gear even without an excessive heat warning. Safety comes first and we will hope to see you all on Aug 3rd and 4th.

It’s not looking good for Sunday, we are keeping a close watch on the dangerous heat and humidity as well as the storms predicted for Sunday. Even though the heat advisory will be lifted the real feel is still at 90 degrees with 90% humidity. We will keep you posted on any decisions made by tomorrow evening giving everyone plenty of notice.

Thankful that we were finally able to get the first race in the books. It was a great late season opener! Big thanks to everyone who helped make the day run smooth and efficiently! We now have two mini wedge feature races the jr and the main. Aiden Stineback won the Jr feature, Presley Horvath 2nd, and Sandin Bucher 3rd. Austin Burnworth won the main feature. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there today! We wish Mother Nature would have had it in her plans for us to spend the day racing with you all! With such a horrible start to racing this season, we would like to announce that we will be adding 3 make up race days to the schedule. We are including two double header weekends August 3/4th and Labor Day weekend August 31/Sept 1st. This will be an optional camp out for anyone who would like to bring a camper or tent for the weekend. There will be individual pit fees for both days of the double header weekends. We have also changed the closing weekend to September 29th. This will be the last race of the season and the closing banquet. Let’s hope Mother Nature allows us to get the rest of schedule in! Our next Race is July 7th. See you all then 🀞🏁🀞

With tomorrow being Father’s Day, we didn’t want to wait until morning to cancel the races. Unfortunately, after going to the track, current track conditions along with predictions of continuous rain have forced us to cancel once again. Make up race dates will be posted as soon as we get a schedule together. We would like to wish all the father’s a Happy Father’s Day and thank everyone for your continued support.
