Akron Zips Baseball Alumni

The first Varsity “A” Happy Hour on Thursday, January 30, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Hoppin Frog Brewery.

The Varsity “A” Association is our Zips Student-Athlete Alumni Group. If you ever lettered in a sport at Akron, you are a part of the Varsity “A” Association. Umbrellaed under the Zips Athletic Club, this organization is meant to connect, reconnect or maintain a relationship with your sport specific program, teammates, and the university.

Moving forward, The Varsity “A” Association is going to start hosting monthly happy hours on the last Thursday of each month.
We’ll be teaming up with local breweries and businesses to host these events, offering a relaxed environment to connect with alumni outside the office. In times like these, it’s important to strengthen our ties with the community, and these happy hours provide the perfect opportunity to reconnect with former student-athletes, meet current staff, and support local businesses as we come together in a casual setting.

Please note: we are not supplying food or drinks, attendees are welcome to purchase their own.

I’ll be sending out monthly event invites once the dates are confirmed, so you can add them to your calendar if you'd like to join us. For those who are in season, I understand you may not be able to attend, but I still want to ensure you're included in the overall communications.

Your presence and support mean a lot to us and to our alumni community. All are welcome & brining your families is encouraged.

Hello baseball alumni from the University of Akron! 

My brother played baseball at Akron from 1994 to 1998, and I actually played softball here around the same time, but I never left…. I still work here at the University of Akron full-time in the athletics department. I wasn’t sure if there was an alumni page out there for baseball so I started this page. If there is one, just let me know and I can delete this! 

I saw that the baseball coach put this out on social media, so I just wanted to share to reach as many alumni as possible!
