160 of them from fat. 18 grams of fat, 8 of those being saturated and 21 grams of sugar. I would say that four of those small cupcakes equal 1 regular piece of cake!
My take away is enjoy everything in moderation. I will split that cupcake with my husband and enjoy Those two bites on national chocolate cake day!

[11/03/15]   Hey everyone! My clients have been asking me about the 21 DAY FIX containers and how much food they hold, here is the breakdown:

largest: green-vegtables
8 oz or 1 cup

purple: fruit- 8 oz or 1 cup

red: protein- 5 oz or a hair under 2/3 cup

yellow: carbs- 4 oz or 1/2 cup

blue: healthy fat-2 0z

smallest: orange/ nuts and seeds
two containers,1 oz each, so basically 2 oz.

Now, you have to figure out your caloric needs to meet your specific goal and then you know how many of those containers you eat daily- not quite as easy as the infomercial makes it seem.

[09/24/15]   I know this fruit sounded familiar but wasn't sure how to eat it. I proceeded to cut it in half and to my surprise, it was full of something that looked like green snot-yuck.

I tasted the green snot and it was ok but then it got worse because the little black seeds were like chewing on rocks.

Read on, for the wonderful health benefits of passionfruit and then I will explain how I ate it-without chipping a tooth!

Passion fruit is an intriguing and mysterious fruit that has a surprising number of health and medicinal benefits for those fruit lovers who add it to their diet. Some of these benefits include passion fruit’s ability to prevent cancerous growth, stimulate digestion, boost immune function, improve eyesight, increase skin health, regulate fluid balance in the body, lower blood pressure, boost circulation, and improve bone mineral density. Furthermore, it reduces signs of premature aging, lessens inflammation, improves sleeping habits, and eliminates asthma.

So it sounds like there are many great reasons to eat passionfruit but before you run out the door to buy them, I'm going to make things easier for you once you get them home.

I scooped the passionfruit, seeds and all into a blender, added two cups of water and blended for 30 seconds. I strained out the seeds and added a little honey (or sweetener of your choice) to taste.

As I took a sip, I thought, this must be the nectar of the gods...sooo good! the juice is great by itself or could be mixed with other juices, a protein smoothie or dare I say- a cocktail.

passionfruit can be found at specialty grocery stores like Whole Foods and Berkley Bowl. I would also check out farmers markets and open air markets because passionfruit grows great in California-enjoy.
