Lots of people at Wednesday night practice!
The Judo Club at Syracuse University is a sports club that works to spread the Japanese martial arts of Judo to the Syracuse University and ESF community.
Judo is a martial art focusing on throws, trips, and sweeps from a standing position. Our club also teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a grappling martial art focused on ground work, during the latter half of our class. We accept undergraduates, graduates, faculty, and staff of all experience levels. Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00-9:00 PM and Saturday from 12:00-2:00 PM in the Lower Exer

The first annual BJJ Club potluck was a success...thanks to everyone for coming
Unfortunately we have to cancel practice tonight because none of the officers can make it. David will be making his return from being sick Thursday and we will be organizing gi orders over the next week. Also there is no email this week because there are some problems with the listserv that need to be fixed.
Semester schedule:
Monday: 7:30pm - 9:30 pm
Wednesday: 7:30pm - 9:30pm
Open Mat: Friday 6-8 pm

Club fair was a huge success! We had 41 new members sign up! All new members should go to the general interest meeting this saturday 9/9/17 to get more info about the club. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
No updates on schedule yet, stay tuned! The athletic club fair is this coming Tuesday Sept. 5th from 5:30pm - 8:00pm. If you would like to sign up and start going to practices please show up!

Keel Krumenacker, Connor Dormer, David Schmitt, and Shaimus Ryan competing at the Good Fight submission only NY State open tournament in Albany on 4/22/17. Connor got first place in the 170lb beginners division, while Keel got 3rd place in the 155lb beginners division.
