[05/07/20]   I am starting a new series called, "Did you know. . . ". So here we go;

Did you know . . . that Neuroplasticity experts say that most of what we do all day is done on Auto-pilot through the unconscious mind? We have formed habits that are incredibly difficult to break and it takes a lot of conscious thought until it becomes a habit. Then that positive habit will be just as hard to break! Yeah!
The best way to form a new habit is to link a reward with it. If you want to show up at the gym more (after COVID, of course) then link a reward with the place; be sociable, buy gym clothing to ONLY wear there, stand under your favorite tree on the grounds on the way back out to the car, etc.
For ideas to link your new habit with a healful reward, contact me here. We'll talk.

[04/29/20]   In order to keep yourself safe from COVID-19 of course use distancing, washing, and cleaning. But also focus less on "the virus" and MORE on HEALTH. Think less about getting a disease, and think MORE about being HAPPY. SMILE more, Dance like no one is watching, take a blissful bath, call friends on the phone or Skype, or Zoom. Do more Appreciating! The more we can think of positive thoughts and raise our vibrations (thoughts send out vibration, you know) the more positivity will take over our planet instead of a silly, non-thinking virus! We are smarter than this situation.

[04/21/20]   Earth Day is tomorrow! My Favorite time of the year. Get out there! Enjoy a hike (6 feet from others is still in effect), pick up trash, break out the canoe and kyack. Enjoy the fresh air while we still have it (before the corporate leaders pollute it further because it is "good for business").

An efficient (and thrifty) way to exercise at home - Harvard Health

If you are wondering how to workout when the gyms are closed, here are some ideas from the Harvard School of Medicine;
https://bit.ly/2JPUTzH

Also know that anything can be used as weights; soup cans, cat litter boxes, even your own body weight (planks, situps, pushups, reverse pushups, etc.)
Aerobics can be accomplished with a brisk walk outside (stay 6 feet from other people), dancing in your living room (no one will see), or use your hallway to hop, skip, and jump your way to the bedrooms.
Remember to stretch after all of these; toe-touches, slow arm circles, side bends, and heel stretches will get you started.

If you need more ideas, just let me know. I am full of it .. . . . ideas, I mean.

health.harvard.edu Muscle-strengthening exercises are increasingly being recognized as playing an important role in cardiovascular health. With a set of dumbbells and a few simple moves, people can get a good strength workout at home. Two basic exercises that strengthe...

You are all welcome to take advantage of my free offer on my group site; https://bit.ly/3bnY6lY

Hoping to do my part to keep everyone sane during this time of lock-down. Feel free to view the rest of my posts there as well. There is some helpful information for all.

Available online to support and reduce the effects of chronic ailments such as Cancer, Diabetes, Arthritis, manage pain, reduce emotional issues. Modalities used; Reiki, Personal Training, Meditation, EFT Tapping, and T-Touch. Alternative medicinces.

[03/27/20]   Scientists have now proven what we have all known in our hearts for generations; that most disease comes as a result of stress.
If you are feeling stressed during this time of Virus-Lockdown, please email me at [email protected].
I am giving away free Meditation and Life-Planning sessions in an effort to keep everyone healthy and sane. It may not help with something like a virus, but it will keep you more grounded and away from some cancers, auto-immune diseases, and better able to cope with cabin-fever.
In the meantime be grateful! Yes, we can still be grateful and keep these times in perspective.

We have heat
We have electricity
We have food in our pantries and freezers
We have entertainment, and
We have each other.
These are things people in Puerto Rico did not have after both hurricanes.

[03/25/20]   3 best ways to fight COVID-19
1. Physical Distance from others
2. Washing/Disinfecting often throughout the day
3. Raise your metabolism!
Go on brisk walks
Pilates is great for all ability levels and small spaces
Lifting weights (soup cans, litter boxes, a bag of potatoes, etc)
Power moves (squats, planks, pushups, etc.)
If you get sore, you have done too much too soon. Back off the next day but still do some. Start slow and increase each week.

Let's all meditate on a healthy world; getting out, greeting people, hugging and handshaking once again. Focus on the world we want to create, not the lack of it.

Stress Management: Approaches for preventing and reducing stress - Harvard Health

With the COVID-19 virus going around, it can be a stressful time for us. Chronic stress can lead to many diseases as our Medical Professionals are telling us. But we can use that stress to our advantage also. Review this article put out by the Harvard Medical group to see how;

http://bit.ly/2IK8A2I

health.harvard.edu Stress is inevitable.  From frustration with traffic to fear brought on by a health scare, stress constantly intrudes in our lives.  But the consequences of stress don't have to be inevitable as well.  You can counteract the damaging effects of stress by calling upon your body’s rich potential ...

[02/01/20]   I just read an article in the November 2019 issue of Health Magazine. No judgment on my tardiness in reading this issue. Please love me for who I am and the busy life I lead.
Anyway, this article titled "The New Way to Think About Food" was actually new in the 90's called Intuitive Eating which really is an effort to eliminate the temporary or deprivation dieting that starts people on impossible rollercoasters.
In the Personal Training industry for years, I have always instructed people to eat what you like to avoid cravings, eat a variety to get all the nutrients needed, and to eat what you DON'T like first while you are hungry and save the best for last so you don't overeat those trigger foods.
So what would the Placebo Effect say about eating? A couple of things; 1. imagining that you are eating your favorite foods is likely to pack on the pounds as much as actually eating it. The reason for this is that your subconscious mind, your nervous system, and your body can't tell the difference between something real and some imagined. That is how phobias get started even though the person KNOWS in the conscious mind that there is no real danger. So imagining you are eating a mountain of icecream may satisfy your craving, but might also increase your waistline as much as if you actually ate it. - - 2. You are more likely to have success by talking to your body. That's right, talk to your stomach and your brain. Work with them together in friendship as if they were your business partners in running the business of your body. Meditation works too, but many people find taking time in their day just to settle the mind quite challenging. Instead, talk to your business partners in appreciation. Try this while you rub or pat your stomach;
"Hey stomach, I so appreciate the work you do for the good of the whole body. You mix food with acids to break it down into basic chemicals small enough to be absorbed by our individual cells. I know you are getting hungry I will be meeting your need in ______ minutes. My goal is to feed you nourishing foods because I know you want the best for the whole body and so do I. I want you to feel satisfied and not full. Let me know when that happens so I don't give you more than you can handle. I care about you want the best for you." Then, as you are eating, keep checking in with your stomach. Just like that old-annoying, but effective, Sprint commercial that asks, "Can you hear me now?" Keep asking your stomach, "Are you full yet?"
Your mind is where the cravings come from so ask it, "Do you really NEED that food, or do you just WANT it?" Sometimes a craving is a mask for something else. Thirst masquerades as hunger. The need for vegies masquerades as carb or sugar cravings. Also ask, "What do you really need?" A WANT can be satisfied with just 2 bights. A NEED only requires one helping, typically 1/2-1 cup full.
This is how the Placebo Effect can be used outside the medical industry and used to our best advantage.

[01/23/20]   In the past I have used Meditation to stimulate the healing effect for physical pain, emotional pain, effectively reducing the body's inflammation response such as in arthritis, and calming the Monkey Mind. Now I am reading so many other uses for it, like; increasing clarity, increasing the material things you want in life, getting the right job, more friends, and on and on. I will happily explore these uses more this year. Anyone wan to join me?

Three Steps to Transform Your Life | Lena Kay | TEDxNishtiman

Placebo Effect Research;

Message 01/01/20
I have always been fascinated by the Placebo Effect, or the power of the mind to heal the body.
I encourage you to watch this Youtube video on Transforming your life.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L51h8BBu7b8
In it, the speaker explains her "3 Steps to Transform Your Life"
1. Focus + Attention = Creation
Stick to it, don't get practical or be talked out of it.
Just focus, clarify and write it down
2. Self Mastery of your beliefs - Life doesn't give you what you want,
it gives you what you believe (expect).
3. Take Action - Concentrate on what feels good first or imagine you already have "it".
Then act as though you already have it,
then take action for it from a position of already have it.

This year I will devote my time to the following uses of the Placebo Effect:
What if; I could teach people how to heal themselves from disease, from mental illness, from trauma.
I could teach people how to get the lifestyle they want.
I could teach people how to get the love, excitement, tranquility, job, friends...

We have entered a time in our society where we don't have enough doctors, nurses, or caretakers for our aging population. Healing oneself is not only a great idea, but it is becoming mandatory due to the shortages we face.
We have entered a time in our society where people are so frustrated with their jobs or their schools that
they feel the need to bring guns in and blow fellow mates away! Finding alternatives to that SHOULD BE our top priority.

We have entered a time in our society where individuals living in large cities filled with people are huddled inside their apartments, on anti-depressant drugs because they are lonely and feel unworthy. Healing this mindset would alter their lives for the better.

This is ALL good uses for the placebo effect or controlling your mind. Not just healing from disease with a sugar pill, but making ALL decisions in life. Not just lying to people about the drug they are getting, but teaching them in honesty how to use their mind to get the same healing effect.

This is my latest work. Through Fitness, and Reiki, Guided Meditations, EFT Tapping, and T-Touch,
I am exploring teaching people how to convince themselves they can have, do, or be anything!

Stay tuned...

[11/26/19]   In this season of Thanks-Giving, let's Give by FORgiving. We will be coming together under a divisive political climate. Let's just agree to disagree and move on appreciating the rest our family and friends have to offer. If we cannot appreciate our differences, let us at least forgive them.

[03/24/15]   Sorry for my absence. Since I went back to work full time, I have been trying to figure out my new schedule.

Tip of the week; You don't need to buy fitness equipment for your home. Soup cans can substitute for hand weights, Dancing in your house like nobody is watching is very aerobic and stretching afterward is all the workout you really need. If you want to reward yourself for keeping up with your workout regimen, buy a set of elastic bands (very versatile), and a skater's slider for a change. DVD's can be rented from the Library. purchased from second-hand stores, or search for Fitness on You Tube to see thousands of ideas.

Our Story

I work with people interested in alternative medicine. Western medicine is still accepted, even encouraged, but it, too, has limitations. I have worked in the Personal Training (fitness) industry for over 30 years and have had enormous success helping people gain better health and vitality through fun, creative movement. I have never been your typical fitness instructor. Throughout my career, I have branched into EFT Tapping, T-Touch, and Meditation. In these capacities I have helped people reduce their stress, anxiety, depression, limiting beliefs and have shown them a more positive and successful life-road. Now I have branched out again to using the Placebo Effect to our greatest advantage. Why should medical science only use it to test their pharmaceuticals when it is so much more powerful than that? I have researched and am still unlocking several keys to how we can use our own minds to do whatever we want or need. Healing, stimulating to action, eliminating barriers, and increasing self-esteem are just the starting points. Come take this journey with me as I teach you what I know and continue to learn together.
