NMHSCA releases the 2021 Red vs. Green Boys All-Star Soccer Teams. The game will be at 2:00 pm at the Field of Dreams in Las Cruces on Saturday, November 13.

Game is at High Noon is Las Cruces this coming Saturday, November 13 at the Field of Dreams.
NMHSCA proposes having all-star games during the school year one week after state championships. Red & Green teams will be drafted with no geographical connection. Kids from the same team will play against each as well with each other. Check out the details:

To reach each level a coach has to win 80% of the time for 5 years. So each of the coaches below have had to minimally win 80% of their games for 15-20 years.

Today, NMHSCA Board of Directors Decide to:
1. Cancel 2020 All-Star Games.
2. Cancel 76th Annual In-Person Coaches Clinic.
3. Cut Salary of Executive Director due to the impact of COVID-19.
4. To No longer use “North vs. South” moniker/format for future All-Star events.
I read this in the Albuquerque Journal today. 🤯 We must stop playing ping pong with our athletes. Sports can be played safely for kids and fans. Coaches are leaders. Let Coaches lead us back to playing sports safely. Education and Graduation rates of kids will be impacted in a negative way if we take activities out of schools. Let’s get a plan and stick to it.
Much Appreciation to NMAA Executive Director Sally Marquez for inviting me to discuss re-opening of High School Sports in New Mexico, today. AD’s tomorrow. It’s a tough job to collaborate so many different thoughts on this issue. I believe HS sports is on its way back!!

Coach Marcus Pino, Alamo Navajo passed away yesterday from the COVID-19.
Coach Pino was a staple at the annual Coaches Clinic and high school sporting events across the Southwest & northwest. He always had a smile, never met a coach he didn’t respect, and was always first up to help other coaches.
We will miss you, Coach!
