Aside from putting battery acid, poison or broken glass into your body, could there be anything worse than soft drinks!!! I can easily spend hours upon hours preaching to anyone who will listen on the dangers and extreme health risks of drinking soft drinks on a daily or intermittent basis. Instead, I’ll let you know what the experts are saying!

They work very much like a diuretic which takes away more water than it provides to the body. Just to process the high levels of sugar in soft drinks steals a considerable amount of water from the body. To replace the water stolen by soft drinks, you need to drink 8-12 glasses of water for every one glass of soft drink that you consume!

Soft Drinks never quench your thirst, certainly not your body’s need for water. Constantly denying your body an adequate amount can lead to Chronic Cellular Dehydration, a condition that weakens your body at the cellular level. This, in turn, can lead to a weakened immune system and a plethora of diseases. Can you say Co-Morbidity Diseases!

The elevated levels of phosphates in soft drinks leach vital minerals from your body. Soft Drinks are made with purified water that also leach vital minerals from your body. A severe lack of minerals can lead to Heart Disease (lack of magnesium), Osteoporosis (lack of calcium) and many other diseases. Most vitamins can not perform their function in the body without the presence of minerals.
Soft Drinks can remove rust from a car bumper or other metal surfaces. Imagine what it’s doing to your digestive tract as well as the rest of your body. I have also used them to clean the occasional toilet.

The high amounts of sugar in Soft Drinks causes your pancreas to produce an abundance of insulin, which leads to a “sugar crash”. Chronic elevation and depletion of sugar and insulin can lead to diabetes and other imbalance related diseases. This is particularly disruptive to growing children which can lead to life-long health problems. This increase in sugar or sugar like chemicals also spikes a person’s insulin levels and helps to create the dreaded “fat cells”.

Soft Drinks severely interfere with digestion. Caffeine and high amounts of sugar virtually shut down the digestive process. That means your body is essentially taking in NO nutrients from the food you may have just eaten, even food that was eaten hours earlier.
Consumed with french-fries which can take WEEKS to digest, there is arguably nothing worse that a person can put in their body.

Diet soft drinks contain Aspartame, which has been linked to depression, insomnia, neurological disease and a plenty of other illness. The FDA has received more than 10,000 consumer complaints about Aspartame. That’s 80% of all complaints about food additives.

Soft Drinks are EXTREMELY acidic, so much so that they can eat through the liner of an aluminum can and leach aluminum from the can if it sits on the shelf too long. Alzheimer patients who have been autopsied ALL have high levels of aluminum in their brains. Heavy metals in the body can lead to many neurological and other diseases.

Soft Drinks are EXTREMELY acidic: The human body naturally exists at a pH level of about 7.0. Soft Drinks have a pH of about 2.5, which means you are putting something into your body that is hundreds of thousands of times more acidic than your body is!
Diseases flourish in an acidic environment. Soft Drinks and other acidic foods deposit acid waste in the body which accumulates over time in the joints and around the organs.
For example, the Body pH of cancer or arthritis patients are always low. The sicker the person, the lower the Body pH.

Soft Drinks are one of the WORST THINGS you can possibly put in your body. Don’t even think of taking a sip of a Soft Drink when you are sick with a cold, flu or something worse. It will only make it that much harder for your body to fight the illness.

OKAY, I’m almost finished and ready to get off of my soapbox about how BAD Soft Drinks are for you. But just so we’re clear on one thing. The next time you reach for that soft drink, think one thing…PURE POISON?

Remember, the more toxins that you put into your body, the harder the body has to fight to retain it’s natural and healthy state. But the body can only fight so much before it too is overrun. Once the body is overrun by these toxic chemicals that we insist on depositing into our bodies, an ever-increasing downward spiral of unhealthy side affects occurs. Unfortunately for you, unless you change your nutritional LifeStyle, your own personal HEALTH DISASTER is unavoidable!!!

So the next time you have the desire to reach for another can of soda, try something new and reach for the water instead. If you’re one of the many who feel water is boring or just doesn’t have enough taste, slice up some cucumber, lemons, limes or oranges for a refreshing new taste. Until the next time…

More photos from our Fitness & Self Defense day in Gallup for the City employees.

A GREAT day was had by all as Hidden Tiger Fitness & Self Defense hosted the City of Gallup's annual Administrative Professionals Appreciation Day. About 45 women participated in a day filled with Fitness, Nutrition and Self Defense. We covered topics such as "The Sugar Blues" and the health risks of too much sugar, how to do "Meal Planning" for your busy week, presented and demonstrated the "Six Essential Exercises & Activities" that everyone should be doing, had a nutritious lunch that the women helped to prepare, continued through the afternoon with 90 minutes of Self Defense and participation, and ended the day with a Fitness Competition where the women, based on what they learned throughout the day, were divided into teams and developed and presented their own Fitness program. Prizes were awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Special thanks to Justin Hall of New Mexico JiuJitsu Academy for his always effective demonstration of Self Defense techniques and why everyone should know some, and to Cindy Ballard of New Mexico Health Coach for her spot on information about the importance of a balanced nutritional plan. All in all, a truly Inspiring day! If interested in having a Corporate Event based around Fitness, Health & Self Defense, please contact me through Instant Messaging or email me at [email protected] or visit our web site @ www.HiddenTigerFitness.com for our online videos for Fitness & Self Defense as well as a library of Health & Wellness information.
