Our girls have been attending Athlete Ready with Coach Jared since December 2016. He has helped to prepare our oldest, Taylor, for the next level as she will play women's soccer for West Texas A&M this Fall. He is also working to prepare our youngest, Kasey, for what's to come with high school soccer. Coach Jared and his team of instructors are highly qualified and work very well with the many athletes that come through their doors. They develop a trusting and encouraging relationship with each athlete. They work to improve upon the athlete's strength, conditioning, balance, and they are BIG on injury prevention. My wife and I have been very satisfied with the confidence and results we see in our girls. Thank you Coach Jared!
It has been a wonderful experience having my boys at athlete ready....the staff, especially Estevan Lucero have been amazing to work with....my kids are more confident, stronger, and actually enjoy working out...thank you for all your hard work and dedication to these kids.
It's been a great experience having my daughter at Athlete Ready. These coaches are so positive and supportive. When you have such great role models and support behind you it makes a huge difference in an atheltes desire to do well. It's been a great family environment. Estevan Lucero and Jared Saavedra really take the time to stay connected with the athletes and the parents. They even spend their own time outside of the gym keeping the girls honed in on their basketball skills playing pick up games.

Rob has had a passion for sports and health since his days at Volcano Vista where he shared his talents with the basketball and track and field teams. Not hard to believe, Rob earned himself multiple Metro and State titles in the triple and long jump.

Naturally his interests ultimately led him to pursue a career helping clients feel and perform better. In 2018 after receiving multiple certifications he began his career as a Personal Trainer. Later in 2019, Rob expanded his knowledge into body work as a Licensed Massage Therapist. He is committed to always improve and expound on his expertise so he can be equipped to help athletes of all ages increase their confidence and reach their potential. Rob aims to be the best teammate for the athletes he works with, supporting them to become the best forms of themselves.

Abbi has been an athlete her entire life starting at a very young age. She spent 14 years of her athletic career as a soccer player before focusing her talents on running. Abbi ran track for 8 years, first as a standout at Cleveland HS and then the University of New Mexico as a 200m and the 400m sprinter. As many of you know Abbi also trained at AR (@coachjaredsaavedra) as a client much of her HS career.

Her first-hand experiences as a collegiate athlete combined with her formal education in exercise science provide her with the expertise and knowledge to lead the next generation forward. We can’t wait to see what this girl is able to do.

Based on the body building and power lifting history, strength and conditioning often gets limited to forward and sometimes lateral movements. This can cause major imbalances and rob over all capability.

We have found ground based, multi-joint, and multi-planar movements to be the most effective in simulating the 3 dimensions of most sport demand.

Med Ball Hip Tosses are some of our favorite ways to incorporate and polish dynamic rotation. @505xjr killed these today - getting better and better at controlling his hips away from his upper spine. This is gonna be a game changer for someone as shifty as he is with the 🏀 in his hands. To all his opponents this season, WATCH YOUR ANKLES.

Challenge yourself in your next session to be intentional and think about where you’re moving from. A simplified way to check into your entire body is by being aware of your shoulder, abs (spine), and hip position. Try and keep them in active positions you can transfer to your sport. You’ll hear “proud chest”, or “pull your ribs down” or “tuck those hips” probably 1000 times in our sessions. Try it out!

We’ve come to prioritize assessing our athletes regularly to mark progress from phase to phase and year to year because we know what gets measured matters.

Of course we assess upper and lower body strength/power and speed. As importantly we assess movement quality to make sure that not only do lifts go up in weight but overall capability (athleticism) increases as well.

Shameless self plug!😜😬 The pic on the left popped up on my FB memories a few days ago. This was 4 years back😳😳 Pic on the right was from this past Friday! It’s been a journey to say the least, but man do I feel better!! Both physically AND mentally! I give absolutely no thanks or credit to my friends who allowed me to walk around with this dad bod for so many years without calling me out!😒🤣🤣 I encourage all my friends and everyone else out there to start your journey now!💪🏽 Start out slow! Workout 1-2 times a week and see the difference on how you feel. From there, start cutting out things slowly from your daily eating habits. Maybe grab fast food once or twice a week as opposed to 3-4, drink soda in lesser quantities, start adding a bit of vegetables to your dinner a few times a week, etc. If you do things the right way and with a slow and steady process, it becomes sustainable! It becomes less about a hard core shock diet and more so just about a better quality of life! YOU CAN DO IT! I assure you! Just start somewhere!! 💪🏽💪🏽 It’s not just about the physical aspects of how you start looking after working out and eating right BUT ALMOST MORE IMPORTANTLY it’s what it does to your mental health! Something I think we all can struggle with from time to time. The clarity, the confidence, the positivity that comes with it all on the mental side of things when you’re working out, eating right, and living an active lifestyle! It’s huge! 😎A massive THANK YOU to my community, coaches, and peers at @sweatyogastudio and @athleteready! It really does make a difference where you train, and I truly feel blessed to be a part of what I consider the best yoga studio and circuit training facility in the state of NM! 💯 Thank you @yogawithdave @_marisajohnson_ @devsonthebus @chefro505 @coachjaredsaavedra for always welcoming new clients and members with open arms and providing such great places to train, sweat, and be coached!
