I love meditation, yoga, strength training, and movement.

I also want the world to appreciate and experience the changes they can make when they focus on any one of these areas.

The greatest flex in this life is boring-ass peace.

Not the kind that sells. Not the kind that looks good. The real kind — quiet, steady, and hard-won through practice.

The eight limb path of yoga isn't about the postures. It never was. It's a full system — ethics, breath, concentration, meditation — designed to free you from the illusion that you're separate from everything around you.

Perhaps the most profound part of practice is expanding attention beyond any single anchor to include the fullness of experience—sounds, sensations, breath, thoughts, emotions, and moods. No longer holding tightly to one thing, all experiences are allowed. Nothing needs to be pushed away or clung to. We just witness.

I encouraged a deeper sense of grounding through attention to physical support—how the chair, mat, or floor holds the body, or how the breath moves naturally. Tuning into these sensations brings awareness out of the mind and into the present. It’s not about chasing relaxation, but inviting in a sense of ease or comfort, even if it’s subtle.

Every meditation practice starts by simply acknowledging where we are. As I welcomed everyone into the session, I encouraged us to take note of the day—recognizing any residual feelings or experiences we brought with us into the moment. Whether you rushed from work, eased into practice after a quiet day, or found yourself somewhere in between, it’s important to meet yourself as you are.

The practice involves sequential attention to the breath, a body scan, and mindful observation of thoughts, using labeling techniques to maintain a neutral perspective and avoid becoming entangled in narratives.

It is the perfect opportunity to remember that this is an attitude of non judgment we're taking as we're paying attention to what is occurring. Rather than seeking a specific outcome, we're just receiving and noticing.

The simplest things are often the most challenging.

How to Meditate

1. Focus on the breath
2. Notice when you're gone
3. Let go of distraction gently
4. Begin again
