These are just my thoughts.

This is one of those things that scares me. I think this could be a good idea. It could help in a lot of ways. However, what worries me, is that New Mexico has tried and plans to try again to pass laws saying that the “Gun Owner” can be criminally responsible/liable for their Fi****ms used in a crime if stolen. If a Criminal breaks into your home, walks in front of your cameras, steals a firearm from inside your home and later uses it in a crime, you the owner can go to jail for the crimes they commit. You didn’t commit the crime(s), you didn’t do anything wrong but you’ll still be punished.

If I was to participate in this program, am I just making it easier for the Law to prosecute me? I will not be a willing participant in my own prosecution.

I’m going to start off by saying, our prayers and condolences go out to the Family of those affected by this horrible situation.

This situation was so easily avoidable. It was NOT a simple unavoidable accident, it was a result of IGNORANCE & NEGLIGENCE. Alec Baldwin is wrong in asking “why was I handed a hot gun”. When handed the gun, it was his responsibility to check and ensure it was safe and unloaded. It was his responsibility to keep it pointed in a safe direction. It was his responsibility to keep his finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

I’m not claiming to know the whole story here. I don’t know if they were actually in the progress of filming or just handling and testing the “prop” gun. However, the facts above remain true. He trusted others to make life altering decisions fir him. It was his responsibility to ensure that firearm was safe, loaded with blanks correctly, etc. Blaming another for his actions is not correct.

Everyone handling these fi****ms should be required to take a safety and training course. There should be a fi****ms expert on site. There should be several levels of safety when checking, using and transporting the firearm. This takes multiple people not just one.

The one holding it and making the conscious choice to aim it at another person and making the decision to fire, is ultimately 100% responsible.

I’m sorry this avoidable situation happened.

Just so there is no confusion. Lol, seem to be a bit blurred as of late.

We at Pro Defense are very saddened and hurt for all the families, friends and loved ones affected by the horrible actions committed yesterday against innocent people. We offer our deepest sympathies and condolences to them.

We have to take action! Gun laws, bans, control, etc. are NOT the answer. Criminals and those who have decided to commit evil will do so regardless of laws. We must take action to protect ourselves and those we love. If guns are banned, good people will follow these laws, allowing these types of horrible scenarios to occur more often. We must be able to defend ourselves. 911 can not respond fast enough.

Take a moment out of your lives and use that time to learn how to better protect yourself. Considering buying a boat for future classes. In true NM fashion we went from dry, sunny, beautiful weather to hurricane style wind, rain and lightning for about 30 minutes. Afterwards we were left with about 6-8” of standing water. However they continued their qualification and all passed.
