[08/11/17]   Event 1: “Patriot Day” 9/11 (In honor of our fallen)
Brought to you by Las Ventanas Homes

11 Minute AMRAP:

9 Pull-Ups
9 Dumbbell Shoulder-to-Overhead
30ft. Weighted Walking Lunge (Front Rack)

Rx Division: 35/25lb. Dumbbells
Scaled Division: 25/20lb. Dumbbells, Jumping Pull-Ups

WORKOUT DISCRIPTION:
Athlete #1 will begin this 11 minute AMRAP by performing 9 Pull-Ups then sprint to their pair of Dumbbells and perform 9 Dumbbell Shoulder-to-Overhead. Athlete #1 will then keep the Dumbbells in the front rack position and proceed to lunge the 15 foot distance toward partner #2 and then turn around and lunge back 15 feet, placing the dumbbells on the floor and then sprint back and tag Athlete #2. Athlete #2 will then proceed through the triplet as athlete #1 rests. Athletes will continue for 11 minutes accumulating as many rounds and reps as possible.

MOVEMENT STANDARDS:
-THE PULL-UP: each rep must begin with the athlete hanging from the pull-up bar and have full arm extension below the pull-bar. The athlete’s chin must clearly pass above the pull-up bar and return to full arm extension at the end of the rep. Failure for the athlete to achieve these standards will result in a “no-rep” from their judge. The athletes may do strict, kipping, or butterfly pull-ups, as long as the standard of movement is maintained.

- JUMPING CHIN-OVER-BAR PULL-UP: The pull-up bar should be setup so it is at least 6 inches above the top of the athlete’s head when standing tall. At the bottom, the athlete must lower themselves so their arms are fully extended. At the top the chin must break the horizontal plane of the bar. Failure to achieve these standards for each rep will result in a “no-rep” from judge.

-THE DUMBBELL SHOULDER-TO-OVERHEAD: The athlete will begin with the dumbbell on the ground. The athlete can then clean the dumbbells to their shoulders and then proceed to strict press, push-press, or push-jerk the dumbbell from shoulder to over-head. The rep will count when the athlete’s arms, hips and knees are fully locked out with complete control of dumbbell over head. Failure to be completely locked-out before lowering the dumbbells back to shoulders will result in a “no-rep”. The athlete may “re-clean” the dumbbells from the ground as many times as necessary to complete the 9 shoulder-to-overhead reps. The athletes may NOT drop the dumbbells from any height, if the athlete drops the dumbbells in any capacity to the floor, there will be a 10-rep penalty, if the dumbbells are dropped and break, the athletes will be disqualified from current event.

THE WEIGHTED WALKING LUNGE (front rack): Each lunge begins with the dumbbells at the shoulders. The rear head of the dumbbell must be clearly over or slightly behind the center of the athlete’s body when viewed from profile. The trailing knee must make contact with the ground at the bottom of each lunge. The dumbbells must remain at the shoulders, and the hands must remain around the dumbbell handle for the duration of the rep. Releasing the grip on the handle and letting the dumbbell rest solely on the shoulder is not allowed. Walking lunges are required. Lunging in place is not allowed. The rep ends with the dumbbells still at the shoulders and the athlete standing tall with the hips and knees fully extended. Stopping with both feet together on the ground is not required, but both legs must be fully extended if the athlete chooses to step through at the top. The athlete must alternate which foot leads for each rep. Shuffle steps between reps are not allowed. If the athlete fails to meet any standard during a step, including not touching the trailing knee to the ground, not reaching full extension at the top of the rep, or not keeping the dumbbells at the shoulders for the entire rep, the athlete must restart from behind the last 5-foot increment they successfully crossed. Similarly, if at any time during the lunge the dumbbells are lowered from the shoulders, the athlete must restart from behind the last 5-foot increment they successfully crossed. The athlete must clearly pass the finish or “turn-around” line with both heels past the line and the athlete is standing tall with dumbbells at the shoulders before completing their second 15-foot section (totaling 30ft). Once the athlete clearly passes the finish line with both heels past the line, the athlete is standing tall with the dumbbells at the shoulders and all standards for the repetition have been met, the athlete may then place the dumbbells on the floor and sprint back to athlete #2 and tag them. Each 5 foot section counts as 1 rep.

*Again, the athletes may NOT drop the dumbbells from any height, if the athlete drops the dumbbells in any capacity to the floor, there will be a 10 rep penalty. If the dumbbells are dropped and break, the athletes will be disqualified from current event.

Why Choose HMS | Home Modification Solutions

Event 2: “101 Pups” (In honor of 101st Airborne Division)
Brought to you by HMS Home Modification Solutions

For Time: (18 min. cap)
In teams of 2 perform:

61 Calorie Row
40 Burpees
101 Wall-Balls
40 Burpees
61 Calorie Row

Rx Division: 20/14 lb. Medicine Ball
Scaled Division: 14/10 lb. Medicine Ball

WORKOUT DISCRIPTION:
At the call of “3,2,1...Go,” Athlete 1 will begin the Chipper with the 61 Calorie Row. The two athletes may switch back and forth as many times as necessary to complete a combined total of 61 Calories before moving on the 40 Burpees. Again, the athletes may switch as many times as necessary to complete the 40 Burpees, before moving on to the next movement of 101 Wallballs. The athletes may again switch as many times as necessary to complete a total of 101 Wallballs. Once a total of 101 Wallballs have been completed, the athletes then complete the 40 Burpees, dividing the work as necessary before finishing the chipper with a 61 Calorie Row. There is an 18-minute time cap, any reps left unfinished at the end of the 18 minutes will be reps added to their final score for that event.

MOVEMENT STANDARDS:
-THE BURPEE: the athletes must make full chest AND thigh contact with the ground at the bottom of the Burpee and come to full hip extension at the top of the Burpee, athletes must jump and clap above their head at the top of each Burpee. Failure to complete any of these standards will result in a "no-rep" from your judge.

-THE ROW: To complete the Row, the screen must clearly show "40 calories" before moving on to the next movement of Wallballs. In the case of the final movement of 61 Calorie Row, the screen must clearly show "61 calories" for your final score of time to be recorded.

-THE WALLBALL: The athletes must clearly break below parallel (hip crease must descend lower than knees) at the bottom of the squat and the ball must clearly hit above the 9 foot or 10 foot target (women and men respectively) for the rep to count. Failure to complete both these standards for each rep will result in a "no-rep" from your judge.

*Athletes may switch and divide the reps however they please, but the athletes MUST tag each other before the other athlete begins work. Failure to tag your partner will result in a no rep until the working partner is tagged.
