Emily's Outdoor Adventures

Sometimes a change in scenery allows for a change in perspective.

“... when you go out into the woods and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You appreciate it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn’t get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don’t get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree.

The minute you get near humans, you lose all that. And you are constantly saying “You’re too this, or I’m too this.” That judging mind comes in. And so I practice turning people into trees. Which means appreciating them just the way they are.“ read more by Ram Dass on self judgment: https://www.ramdass.org/ram-dass-on-self-judgement/

"Let yourself evolve into the place where you can allow what you want to transpire" 💜

Just a few shots from some recent days in the desert.... 🙌🏽 where do you go to get outside?

Though I love all the surrounding National Parks of UT, AZ and NV, these little gems of less frequented land still steal my breath 🙌🏽

Scored a sweet primitive camp spot offering so many sick views! For more pics check out Emily Peters Kagan 👊🏽

So many blessings here on earth, and every little speck of life plays its part to produce one magnificent entity. Mother Earth = LIFE ❤️

Taking a water break along the trail, I bumped into a hiker who asked me "what's your destination?" Naturally and confidently, I answered, ""The journey IS my destination." Every day we wake, we have the gift of a new day, the gift of life - celebrate it! 🙏🏽❤️

Thank you Brian for your kind words! It was so amazing to share that experience with you and your puppies! Keep sharing your stories of all your latest and greatest adventures 🙏🏽💜

Emily is such an inspiring soul and person. She guided me in a few nights of hiking and camping at Lake Baldy. One of my favorite memories was when I needed to rest after searching for fire wood and as I was sitting there Emily walked by with a huge log on her shoulder. This humbled me and have me such respect for her hard effort. Emily is always so high spirited and joyful to be around. Her knowledge of trails and maps and being a solid survivalist is such a great tool to have I'm a guide. If you want the time of your life in the outdoors join her!

By whatever means you have, get outside! Even on ONE trail, the experience - sightings, smells, scenery and wildlife all will change with the hours in each day! Go out and play!

Thank you so much Jayda for trusting me, giving yourself entirely to the experience, and sharing this beautiful journey!

My hiking experience with Emily is one I will never forget. When she first presented the idea to me, I was apprehensive and hesitant to accept the offer, as I’d never been hiking before, and I wasn’t necessarily fond of nature. However, against my own doubts, I decided to push myself past my comfort zone and accept the offer. In total, we hiked approximately 20 miles, and the experience held undoubtedly some of the most beautiful views I had witnessed. Lakes of pure blue, mushrooms greater in size than my hand, trees that towered far above my head, and when I finally reached the top of the mountain, I could see rolling hills and mountain peaks that took my breath away. Being able to climb to the top was a huge personal success, having scaled multiple boulders in the process, and when I made it to the top, it portrayed a small patch of meadow-like ground. My adventure to the mountain was an eye opener, a new appreciation to life and nature, and being able to use my full focus without my phone, which had no reception (ultimately adding to the lesson of appreciation). The nights could be cold, and wind blew strong at times, but equipped with proper resources, it did no damage to our journey. I’d encourage anyone looking for adventure to experience an extended weekend hike, memories are made and quality time is spent with your companions, being able to share the breathtaking views with others is an amazing occasion.
