The FIT Kidz held the raffle for the cash prizes today. We would like to thank all that participated and helped the kids accomplish their goal of raising the entry fee for their tournament. I'm sorry for the lack of posts, I keep forgetting because I've been rushing home to catch Monday Night Football (GO NINERS!). This week, I chose a story from the movie "Catch Me If You Can" (see below) because with this weekend's grappling tournament in El Paso, I wanted to inspire the kids not to give up which just so happens to be our motto! We head out today and I'll do my best to keep everyone posted on our trip! Have a good weekend everyone and don't stop churning that butter! ;)

Today for , I made sure to preface things by letting the kids know that Floyd Mayweather is not the best role model for them to take after. He does, however, have some very admirable qualities that we could all learn from such as his desire to outwork every other boxer in the sport by applying his dedication, motivation, and passion for his craft. Floyd has his historic retirement fight in a few weeks against Andre Berto where he looks to finish his career with a remarkable record of 50-0. Watching his all access shows have always motivated me to train and that's what I was hoping to inspire in the kids today with this quote.

P.S. Keenan informed me after this quote that he believes in everyone in the whole world and I think we need more of that! :)

Usually Motivational Monday features sports quotes but since school started recently, I thought I'd pick a broader reaching quote. I chose this quote by Dr. Seuss to let our kids know that although they have the tools to be a fighter, they don't necessarily have to be that. They're the author of their own book and they can write it anyway they choose. I had one student say they wanted to be a mechanical engineer and another say they wanted to be a singer. Those are some big dreams and our kids have the power to achieve them.

For those of you that don't know, I (Tim Sosa), have taken up the duties as the striking coach of the Fit Kidz program every Monday and Wednesday. One of the things I have started doing and something the kids really look forward to is Motivational Monday. Every Monday, we end class about 5 minutes early to discuss a quote either I, or a student has brought in. The thought process behind this is to stimulate the students minds throughout the week in addition to their physical techniques. I like to break a mental sweat too in addition to my workouts. :) Having said that, I will be posting our quotes and my thoughts on it after practices on Mondays. Feel free to chime in, share, like or whatever floats your boat.

Attention parents! For the kids that will be competing this weekend, there will be class Monday and Wednesday at 6:30 as well as normal class on Tuesday and Thursday to ensure we go over everything for this weekend thanks!

Today the parents of fit kidz got to have a little fun in our first trial run at parent participation day in a friendly game of tug of war.

Fit kidz thrives to make our students not only great athletes but great individuals as well. Come in and check out our awesome facility and great staff and try a class, the first one is always on us.

Reminder due to the holiday this week, class has been changed from tomorrow night to tonight there will be class Thursday night and saturday after noon, regular schedule resumes next Tuesday

Reminder there will be fit kidz class tonight instead of tomorrow night, happy holidays

Attention parents there will be a schedule change this week and the following week. The week of December 23 class will be moved from Tuesday to Monday due to Christmas no class Thursday we will resume class on Saturday December 28. The week of December 30 class will be moved from Tuesday to Monday due to new years eve we will return to our normal schedule starting Thursday January 2nd. Happy Holidays

FIT KIDZ enjoyed watching some high level wrestling as the women's US national team battled the women's Russian national team

Attention parents for those wanting to go to the wrestling duals tonight at st puis high school please contact coach Ray so we can get a head count if you would like to ride with a coach meet at the gym tonight at 5:15 pm if you would like to meet us there meet us at st puis high school at 6 pm please bring your fit kidz shirts

Attention parents we would like to try and arrange a last minute field trip to the st puis high school to watch the women's usa wrestling team take on Russia in a live dual. We feel this would be a great experience for the students to experience wrestling at its finest it is 5 dollars to get in and we will have more than one coach chaperone if interested contact coach ray..thank you

Congratulations to Elijah Maestes for earning a 25 dollar gift card by achieving the fastest tapout at this past weekend's grappling tournament, Elijah tapped his first opponent in only 8 seconds, good job Elijah.... FIT KIDZ!!!!

The Fit Kidz did a great job today and grappled there hearts out and showed why they have been working so hard, and we brought home some nice hardware
