Many of you have “NEW” goggles!!! This is so extremely exciting for them, so take advantage of this excitement and practice in the tub. Put coins, stickers, or toys at the bottom of the tub, put on their goggles and let them play. My kids can spend an entire evening just looking at stuff in the water.

Im going to give my personally advice on goggles. I use the Finis brand for my younger children (1-3 years old) and TYR youth goggles for my older kids (4+). I sell both brands at the pool for $20, but you can find a variety of colors and styles on Amazon. When they swim with me, please note that I DO NOT recommend goggles with tinted or sunglass lenses. It is very important to me to be able to see their eyes when learning how to swim, so please only buy clear lenses. Plus, the pool is enclosed so they don’t need tinted lenses. As far as fancy straps, if worn properly (which I will teach you) there is no need for this extra expense. The back strap should be worn high on the back of their head, clear of their ears.

Another word of advice. These goggles can last for years if you take good care of them. Keep them in your swim bag and don’t leave them in the car. The heat can ruin the rubber that creates a good seal, keeping the water out of their eyes. And dogs love these fancy chew toys. Be warned, keep them in your swim bag.
