As much as I would ❤️ to think that this pandemic will be over by our June 2nd primary I can’t be 💯 so we encourage you to request a #mailinballot. How a joint moves is mobility we will dive into a second mobility class today using the TRX. Keeping our joints moving is and incredibly important part of being able to keep moving in our daily lives.

Yesterday we worked on mobility today we will work on trigger points. Trigger points are knots in our muscles and with pressure we can relieve the tightness. So today we will use balls to press into these knots to release your tight spots. Classes at 9am and 12pm.

All next week is dedicated to RECOVERY! First I know that a lot of you don’t like recovery, don’t like to slow it down, don’t like to not sweat, you like to push your self you might think I’ve taken enough time off I don’t want to take more, you might think that recovery is not something you need to do, but next week is happening and if it’s not what you need this week then please make sure you revisit some of YouTube workouts.

The reason we are doing a recovery week is because I need it, I need to give my body some time to recover from teaching classes, ridding bikes, and pushing myself. I need to take the moment to stop and allow my body to heal from my workouts so that I don’t get injured. Recovery is so vital to our physical well being and pushes us past plateaus. Especially now when we are locked down we need to be mindful to not let physical exercise become our only outlet, we need to learn how to balance our lives slowing down and stopping is extremely hard for people myself included but if I don’t learn to slow down I run the potential of injury or just stagnation in general.

The main benefits that I find from taking recovery weeks are:
.
*mental strength- doing what I don’t like doing always builds my physical strength. Same goes for mental slowing down and recovering is hard for me but I build mental fortitude.
.
*Nutrition-during this week I get to replenish my body, to fill my talks back up, and to allow healing from the inside out.
.
*prevent injury-The harder I work my body the easier it is to break. Always pushing my cortisol levels, keeping my muscles under tension all have a breaking point. Taking the time to let them rebuild prevents the brake.
.
*Sleep-getting some extra hours of sleep is one of the biggest and best. Our bodies do the most healing when we sleep so taking extra naps, sleeping in allows our body to heal.
.

This weeks schedule is up💪🏽! Let’s get sweaty at home together.

The whole fam went on a hike yesterday 2 humans, 2 dogs, and 1 cat we are super lucky we don’t have any other pets or they would exceed our group size😜. We enjoyed the great outdoors because it’s something we love and is one of the few things we can continue to do. We did take our travel into consideration and thought would we be potentially exposing ourselves to other people and in turn exposing others to us? The immediate answer is yes, of course we would but how could we reduce our exposure?

We decided that if the trail head was busy we would not hike there (we had a back up plans). This particular hike was an out and back so we knew there was potential to meet the same groups on multiple occasions.
.
.
We decided that only when we departed our car would we come in contact with other people. So on the trail when we encountered another group we moved off trail and gave plenty of space for others to pass. Plus we had @creature_adventure_cat so we have to move off trail anyway, waaayy off trail.
.
.
Packed a lunch moved far off trail and enjoyed far away from others.
.
.
We meet 3 other groups of people everyone was very responsible stopped and gave each other plenty of space. I’m writing this to help you all with your decisions to venture outside. This was our thought process and we hope that this helps you with decisions to go outside and adventure.

.
Don’t take your adventure as a reason to socialize with other people. Enjoy the time with yourself and your fam and explore. Our home is pretty amazing and we can explore, we can be socially distant, we can enjoy the great outdoors so don’t be afraid to get outside.

Struggling with the time change!! I hope some of you are fairing better then I am, but right now I feel like a walking zombie! Sleep is essential to our immune system and recovery for our bodies in general. If this tome changes is getting you try and take a 20 minute nap today, you don’t have to sleep just allow your body to be still for 20 min. Start your night time routine 20 minutes early, and call in sleepy if you just can’t 🤣. Seriously try and get the extra rest your body needs allergy season is upon us and that can quickly turn into a cold if you don’t get proper rest.

Whew @sedonamtbfestival you did not disappoint!! Had an incredible two days of ridding and demoing 5 different bikes from amazing companies, rode over 60 miles of incredible trails, meet som amazing people, camped, ate tons of great food, and can’t wait to go back. Sedona is a 6 hour drive from Abq and is totally worth it, you don’t have to bike to enjoy the trails put it on your list of places people. Now for a rest day, then back at training tomorrow!!

The Coronavirus Is Much Worse Than You Think

We are getting a ton media about the COVID-19 and when you look a the actual numbers the everyday flu kills more people then this specific version has. In the gym we will continue practice as normal wipe down the equipment after every use, we clean surfaces everyday, we wash our hands (we hope you do to), we cover up our coughs, and we continue to enjoy getting sweaty together. Our workouts are meant to challenge you both physically and mentally they are not meant to break you down and punish you. We believe that exercise is what we do to enjoy life and all the activities that make life fun. We are not your typical gym, we don't promise results, we don't promise you that you'll loose weight, we don't promise that you'll gain 5 pounds of muscle, rather we promise to make sure that you are getting an incredible workout and are not being over or under trained, we promise that you will have fun, we promise that we will work with you to make sure you are getting everything you can out of every workout.
