Here is Coach Jessica's breakdown to the perfect plank! Sneak this little gem of work into your regular program or simply set a goal to dedicate time to this hold during the week!
One of the BEST things about a plank is you don't need a gym for it!

Perfect Plank - Performing a perfect plank will address core/postural stability, arm strength, and support a solid foundation for a push-up.

Everyone should be able to do a correct push-up whether that be kneeling/modified or standard position. This is another fundamental movement to athleticism.

Set up: Start on all fours. Hands are shoulder width a part, stacked under the shoulders. Knees are hip width a part, stacked under the hips. "Screw arms into floor, pushing the ground away", pull the rib cage down towards hips so you feel your abs engage, keep your chest up and head neutral. While maintaining this position, step one foot back and then the other. Hold!
