It's that time again! Our 2022 ODP Training Centers are starting up and we want to provide you with the dates and locations of our upcoming training center sessions. Please register your players now at https://clubs.bluesombrero.com/Default.aspx?tabid=1332940👈⚽

In Schoolyard, children get to play soccer in an age-specific program, and you, the parents, get to participate with them. In Schoolyard, each team is made up of four players and each player will have a parent (or other adult) with them on the field. The children learn soccer skills like kicking, dribbling, and throwing in the ball, but in a low-pressure setting. Schoolyard is about exposing children to soccer, not grooming them for college scholarships.

There are no assigned coaches to each team. Parents help take turns organizing the teams, setting up fields and supervising the program on Saturdays. Parents are guided by a Master Coach who has planned and leads the activities for the day. There are no mid-week practices.

**NEW PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT**

We are delighted to announce that UK International Soccer is returning to our community to host a summer of soccer for our local players in a few weeks. UK International Soccer will be running the traditional week-long soccer camps for children aged 4-14. Additionally, they will also be running a Development Academy to give players consistent training throughout the summer.

Summer Camps:
- Weeks of 6/20, 6/27, 7/11, 7/25, and 8/1 (Monday - Friday)
- Location: El Oso Grande Park
- Time: 9am - 12pm
- Ages: 4 - 14 years

Summer Development Academy:
- Six practices, beginning 6/21 through 8/4
- Boys on Tuesdays, Girls on Thursdays
- Ages 6-7: 4-5pm
- Ages 8-9: 5:15-6:15pm
- Ages 10-14: 6:30-7:30pm
- Location: Arroyo Del Oso Park

Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Beginning Monday 9/27 and running for 5 sessions total every Monday. This is a great opportunity for our players to get excellent coaching and instruction.

Hello AYSO families, players, and volunteers,

You should have heard from your coach at this time.  We made the very difficult decision this week to postpone week one of the season until next Saturday, September 18, 2021.  This was not an easy decision, but many factors led to the determination.

We know this may be frustrating news, and we’re aware that you are eager and ready to get back to the fields and see your players on the field.  We want that too!

After postponing the first week, this means we will also be extending the season by one week.  Your players will still get a full eight-week season.

Please keep in mind that our program has been dormant for the past year and a half.  Additionally, we are seeing nationwide shortages of supplies and extended and prolonged shipping and delivery times. 

It’s important to our entire team to deliver a quality program for your player(s).  We have faced many obstacles this pre-season, and we continue to fight to put on a fun and successful season.  Our team is committed to doing so.  We are working tirelessly and endlessly to overcome each obstacle as it arises.

AYSO is an ALL VOLUNTEER program and organization.  We have no paid staff or employees.  Each and every person involved in the program volunteers their time and effort to put on the season.  On that note, please take a moment the next time you speak to your Coach or Division Coordinator or Team Parent, or Referee to say “thank you” and let them know how much you appreciate their time and efforts.

The season will start next Saturday, September 18.  We look forward to seeing you at the fields for an amazing season of fun!

Hello AYSO Families!!

School has started, the smell of green chile is in the air and soccer season is upon us!! And I know many of you are wondering things like "Who's my coach?", "Where are we practicing?", "Where's the game schedule?". Let me see if I can help a little....

This week and next week we are conducting our Annual Coach Meetings at the new training center for all Coaches and Assistant Coaches. (Coaches, you should be seeing emails on those meeting times, or check the Calendar for your divisions meeting or reach out if you are unsure). Once Coaches have been to a meeting, they will be calling the families on their team to let you know what happens next. Your Coach will have all the details on practice times and locations, game fields and much more.

If you have not heard from your Coach by the end of the month, please send us an email so we can help. But please be patient as there is a lot happening in the background by your Board, your Team Coaches, Referees and other AYSO Volunteers as we get ready for the season.

The last big question that Coaches won't have an answer to yet is the actual game schedule. We will publish that the weekend of Labor day at the latest. Keep an eye on the website for more information!

Our Kids kick off on September 11th!! And it's going to be a great season! See you out there!
