In the meantime- Welcome to another Trivia Tuesday!
In 1893, the Home Nations Championships (aka Triple Crown) was a contest between England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. While Wales won the Triple Crown that year, what's interesting is that their fan base did not even know it at the end of the pivotal match between them and England.
While points awarded were different for every nation up to this time- Match Officials had met only 2 day prior to this contest and settled on the scoring between penalty kicks and tries. When the final whistle blew most fans thought the score was tied at 14 a side. However due to Wales kicking the first international penalty kick at goal- this was awarded more points and Wales walked away with a victory of 15 to 14 with most of their fans disappointed!
All City practice continues at 11am! See you on the pitch!
