Why Albuquerque?

Festival Flamenco Alburquerque, the largest flamenco festival outside of Spain, is celebrating its 32nd year! Some of you may be asking, "Why Albuquerque?"

For eight days in June, Albuquerque cultural tourism grows exponentially, with hundreds of people coming to Albuquerque to take part in Festival Flamenco. Albuquerque is renowned amongst practitioners of flamenco in Spain and considered the hub of flamenco in North America, providing a center for both "soft diplomacy" through cultural interchange, and diplomacy through economic and material exchange.

The oldest festival outside of Spain, Festival Flamenco has been the catalyst to creating a community of artists and patrons of flamenco in Albuquerque for over thirty years. The Festival's excellence empowers and inspires countless artists in the Albuquerque community.
