Interesting little study published recently on the benefits of yoga during the pandemic. It is never too late to start!

The Yoga group displayed striking and superior ability to cope with stress and anxiety associated with lockdown and COVID-19. PADABHYANGA (oiling the FEET)⁠ - Self-care practice

Though you may find this strange that oiling the feet can actually help support the mind, this practice has been in effect for thousands of years. One quick way to access and calm a hyperactive nervous system is at the soles of the feet. And who doesn’t like a good foot rub?
Take 5 minutes to discover why this is one the most amazing ways to prepare for bed. You will soon find this to be one of your favorite evening rituals. ⁠

* Prepare by having thin socks and Coconut oil (during summer) next to your bed. ⁠
* Right before you are ready to turn the lights out, sit at the edge of the bed and slowly rub oil on the feet. ⁠
* Rub on the soles of the feet, the toes, ankles and heels. Slowly take your time. ⁠
* End by pressing on the base of the big toe nail. This is a marma point that helps bring excess energy down from the head. Simply press here and hold and breathe slowly 3X. ⁠
* Put your socks on and glide into bed.⁠

What is Yoga Shred®?
Yoga Shred® moves are Sadie Nardini’s signature creations. Each separate type of move are called a “Yoga Shred" or a “Shred”. Shreds are done in blocks of 20 seconds activity / 10 seconds rest, for up to 8

Ayurvedic Yoga, tomorrow (Thursday) at 9:30 am! At Heart Center Yoga, we like to keep the class names short and to the point. This class follows the format of breathwork, sun salutation variations, asanas, and savasana. Called ayurvedic because poses and breathing exercises are based on the season, weather, stress levels, as we use the yoga to balance the doshas. So dry, hot June will look different than wet, hot July which is different than dry, cold December. While all of my classes have dosha balancing in mind, it is the main focus of this class.
Let me know if you have questions! It is meant for all levels, beginners are welcome!

[06/02/21]   My newest classes at At Heart Center Yoga! My Monday class will start June 28th, Thursday mornings starts June 24th. This is a suggested $10 drop in, though no one is turned away due to lack of funds. I am so excited to be expanding my teaching schedule in a way that welcomes those that might be intimidated by usual studio fees.
