Pedro Mountain Update 9/2
The fire is now 19,525 acres and 24% contained. The increase in acreage is primarily due to successful ignition operations on the south and east sides of the fire, removing pockets of unburden fuel interior to the fire will help protect nearby homes from possible future fire spread.

Unfortunate news from the Pedro Mountain Fire... Daily Update on the fire.
4 structures lost, 10,255 acres burned and increasing, 10% containment on the fire and there are almost 300 firefighters and personnel working the fire at this time...
Fire personnel completed a productive burnout operation yesterday along the north perimeter in anticipation of a predicted wind shift that is expected to move the fire in that direction. An assortment of aircraft was used to support work, including medium-sized and single engine air tankers, scoopers, and helicopters. Crews worked on structure protection and contingency planning if the fire moves into a flat, grassy area south of the current perimeter.
Firefighters are faced with a red flag warning that includes increased winds and temperatures along with very low humidity. The main objective for today is to secure the edges, including those created during yesterday’s burnout operation, and actively provide protection to structures and other values at risk.
All road closures are still in effect from yesterday. More information can be seen in the photos below.
Thanks Natrona County!
Just released this morning.
***Updated Information*** Pathfinder Reservoir, Boat Ramps, and County Road Closure updates.
Natrona County Fire District
The Natrona County Fire Protection District has been receiving numerous calls in regards to "Burn Bans" or "Fire Restrictions" here in Natrona County.
As of today, there are currently NO burn bans or fire restrictions in effect for Natrona County. We will keep the public up to date on any changes that may occur.
However, we do advise that on 'Red Flag Warning' or 'Fire Weather Watch' days that any fires or burning are highly discouraged and to burn at your own risk.
Be safe Natrona County, thank you.
