Alden Varsity Swimming and Diving
[03/04/13] Parents and athletes please check your email for information regarding the banquet and returning team issued gear. Tomorrow is the last day to return your equipment!
[02/19/13] The Alden Swimming and Diving banquet will be held Tuesday, March 5th at 6pm at The Whistle Stop on Exchange St. The cost will be $14 per person. Please inform us of your attendance so we can get a head count. This will also be the last chance to return uniforms before the school issues a bill for missing equipment. Please organize your gear and get it in. I will be in the pool Monday to beat Zack Salim in the 100 breast. Any other takers? Bring it on!
[02/11/13] It's looking good for all the relays to make the sectional meet. The freestyle relays have a great chance of making it back for finals. The medley relay will be right on the edge. Most impressively, the 200 freestyle relay has an aggregate time of 1:34.41 which is well under the school record of 1:34.95. We stepped up huge this past weekend, we just have to do it again Friday!
[01/19/13] Three lifetime best swims in our off-the-block swims in practice today! This is getting exciting!
[01/19/13] 26/64 best times, 3 new Class cuts, 1 new Sectional cut, 2 new relay season bests by 2 seconds each. Unbelievable swimming tonight boys. See ECIC A, Class, and Sectional athletes tomorrow at 8am. Continue the hard work, we're just starting to see the payoff!
[01/14/13] If you see an Alden swimmer, ask them if you cab sign their swim cap. For a minimum donation of $1 Alden swimmers are having their caps signed for their home meet against Iroquois Tuesday at 5pm. Swimmers, your money will be collected by 4pm tomorrow so get busy!
[01/09/13] Outstanding meet tonight at Depew HS. We would like to thank Depew for their wonderful support of Grant's Gang wearing caps, posting signs, and taking a moment for a very special memorial. Tonight was truly a special night and one of the most exciting swim meets I have ever watched. Couldn't be any more proud of the effort we made tonight. Keep believing in the program and we will continue to drop time!

one of the closest realys ever! i claim no ownership!
[01/05/13] Alden will travel to Cleve Hill to face 7 other teams at the Frederic Puff Memorial Invitational Swim Meet. This will be an excellent opportunity to experience a meet that is run championships style. Plenty of rest between events with excellent competition throughout every event. We will take this opportunity to have some fun and I'm confident we will have great swims. See you at 7 AM for a wake up swim!
[01/05/13] 14 young men walked in to the Eden pool and gave their 30+ swimmers a run for their money. It hurts to win half of the events, 1-2 relays, and still lose the meet by 12. The lack of numbers hurt our depth tonight but we still managed to record 16 personal best times (30% of our swims) during our peak training weeks. Stay focused and get into the Championship mindset, Gentlemen! The end of the season is going to be FAST!
[01/04/13] We travel to Eden tonight for our first dual meet of 2013. A little light on numbers but certainly not on heart. Come support your Alden Swimming and Diving team at Eden HS at 4:30 pm, it's sure to be an interesting meet.
[12/22/12] It was a tough loss tonight but the boys lit the water on fire! They entered the water 66 times tonight and 42 of those swims ended in best times. Don't forget that we are tired and many of us are sick. What a way to end the 2012 season. So incredibly proud of the effort the team made tonight. Let's continue to HOLD THE ROPE in 2013!
[12/19/12] Interesting fact: Every Alden swimmer who has completed the 200 IM in a meet has made at least an ECIC cut time. We're a pretty well-rounded group!
[12/19/12] The wonderful thing about our sport is that you can get beat up on by a powerhouse team and still be extremely happy with the effort your team swam. Tonight was not the night for a meet victory, but I hope everybody took the time to notice all the smaller battles we won against the clock and our personal bests. Lets brush it off and get ready to fight on our home turf on Friday!
[12/15/12] Fantastic weekend of swimming. That 400 free relay was electrifying. Loved seeing the team get pumped up for big swims. A special congrats goes out to Andy for making our first sectional cut in the 50 free.
[12/15/12] Congrats on a well deserved win tonight. I'm impressed with the amount of best times and the meet victory but those things are expected when a group works as hard as this team does. I'm am most proud of the way we supported each other and fought for every point from start to finish. Get some rest and lets keep the ball rolling in the morning at our relay meet. Nicely done gentlemen!
[12/14/12] Tonight the boys have a 5pm home meet against Tonawanda. Come support your bulldogs!
[12/14/12] Congratulations to Alden Swimming & Diving member Evan Fix on being named athlete of the week for Alden High School. Keep up the hard work!

The boys will be in the pool a little bit longer on Wednesday as some practices with substantial yardage are necessary. Other important information to take note of:
Home meet vs Tonawanda Friday night starting at 5pm. Swimmers should be ready to warm up no later than 4pm.
Alden will host 5 other teams at the Alden Relays Saturday. Meet starts at 10am and swimmers need to be at the pool no later than 845am.
[12/08/12] Tight meet tonight 47-55 loss to Pioneer. The 4 lane pool did not allow us to take advantage of our depth. I count 24 best times. Nicely done boys!
