Annual "Swing to End Alzheimer's" Golf Tournament

When we first started this tournament 10 years ago, we never imagined it would grow to be this big. Our first year, we raised $500 and we were so excited by that.
Each year that total has gradually increased due to the commitment of this community. Last year we were able to raise $25,000. Our hope was to hit that number again. This year we hit that number and more, raising $44,000.
We couldn’t do this without the support from local groups, businesses, individuals who have sponsored holes, personal donations, and for all that participated in our additional fundraising items during the tournament. You all have been so generous. We thank you!
We started this fundraiser because of the impact that it has had on our family. I want to recognize the members of my family who dedicated their bodies by participating in experimental trials,knowing that it wouldn’t help them, but sacrificing for future generations to find a cure to Alzheimer’s.

This is a disease that affects so many families, so I would like to recognize those that are currently fighting Alzheimer’s or have passed so we can celebrate them as well. Feel free to give them a recognition in the comments.

I want to give a big shoutout to my husband Jon. This tournament was his idea and he puts in so much time and effort coordinating the donations, hole sponsors, team entries and probably a hundred other things. Without him it would not be possible.

The 7th Annual Swing to End Alzheimer’s Golf tournament is taking place on Saturday June 17th, 2023 at Lake Miltona Golf Club.

All funds raised will be donated to the Dominantly Inherited Alzheimer’s Network(DIAN) and help the advancement for a treatment and cure for Alzheimer’s Disease. Last year we were able to raise $11,000 and have set a fundraising goal of $12,000 for this year’s event.

We are looking for teams, hole sponsors ($100 per hole) prize donations, or monetary donations. If you are interested please contact Jon or Lindsey Sarkilahti.

Tournament Info:
Registration at 11:00 AM. Tee-off at 12:00 Noon

ENTRY FEE: $240/Team (includes: green fees & golf car)
Payment due at time of tournament cash, check or Venmo

PROCEDURE: 4 Players scramble, Mulligans $10 per, 4 max/team

PRIZES: Longest Drive, Closet to the Pin, Longest Putt & Closest 2nd Shot
1st Place team - $200
2nd Place team -$150
3rd Place team - $100
