This is worth remembering and honoring. And it's worth sitting with for a moment before moving on to what comes next.

There's a version of wellness that skips past that entirely. It stays focused on optimization, on what the body can do next, on progress and consistency and showing up. It rarely stops to acknowledge what the body has already done just to get you here.

But that history is real. The seasons that asked everything of you. The moments you kept going when you had very little left. The adaptation that happened quietly, without anyone naming it or making space for it.

That history is not a barrier to the relationship you want with your body. It's the foundation of it, even when it doesn't feel like one. Even when the relationship still feels complicated or unfamiliar or somewhere in the middle of becoming something.

You don't have to have it figured out to begin listening again.

What's one thing your body has carried that you haven't fully acknowledged yet?

How often do you wait to hear how someone else feels about your body before deciding how you feel about it?

Somewhere along the way, a lot of people learned to check outside themselves first. A number on a screen was never supposed to carry that much weight.

Your body already knows something the outside world cannot tell it. It has lived every day you have lived, felt every season your capacity shifted, and stayed present through all of it without needing anyone's permission to do so.

That is where the relationship actually lives.

What would it feel like to trust what your own body already knows?

What has your body been trying to tell you lately?

You've probably been taught to think of body wisdom as something you have to earn. Something that comes after enough healing, enough practice, enough time spent getting it right.

But your body has been communicating with you your whole life.
The tension that shows up before something feels off.
The ease that settles in when something actually fits.
The fatigue that asks you to slow down.
The pull toward what feels nourishing and the pull away from what doesn't.

For people navigating chronic illness, body image healing, or a return to self-care after being harmed by wellness culture, this matters. You don't need a new program to teach you how to listen to yourself. The wisdom is already there.

The practice isn't learning body wisdom. The practice is trusting it. Honoring it. Letting it be enough.

That's what body connection really is. Not a skill you acquire, but a relationship you return to.

What has your body been telling you that you haven't quite let yourself believe yet?

When did you first notice you had a relationship with your body, even if no one ever taught you to call it that?

It has been there in the ordinary places.
In a body that gets tired faster than it used to.
In a body that has been made to feel like it takes up too much room.
In the way you brace, or soften, before you catch your reflection.
In the way you already know, without being told, what today has room for.

That relationship was not built. It was already there, shaping what you reach for and what you hold back.

Nothing has to be created here. Only noticed.

Imagine a morning where you catch your reflection and there is simply nothing to fix in that moment.
Just a body, already known to you, already yours.

If this is language you want more of, the newsletter is where this conversation keeps going.

What would it feel like to let your body have joy without needing to earn it first?

So much of what you were taught about wellness came with a condition attached, usually some version of change your body first, then you're allowed to feel good.

For people living with chronic illness or in larger bodies, joy can feel like something you have to qualify for. Something waiting on the other side of a version of yourself you haven't become yet.

Choosing joy anyway, in the body you have right now, is an act of care for yourself that no one can take from you. Quiet, and entirely yours to keep.

It can look like the ease in your shoulders when you finally stop bracing. Permission to feel good today, without needing to prove you've earned it.

That kind of self-honoring is where body connection begins. It's where inclusive wellness actually lives.

What would it feel like to let yourself have joy today, just as you are?

Have you ever mistaken slowness for falling behind in your own care?

So much of wellness culture moves fast, pushing you toward quick fixes and rigid routines before you're allowed to rest. It can leave your body bracing instead of settling.
Wellness can move slower and quieter than what most spaces model, and still hold you completely.

Think of an afternoon where you let yourself sit with tea gone lukewarm, no rush to finish it, no guilt for the stillness. That is care too.
The Affirming Wellness E-Guide, a Body Relationship® Guide to Inclusive Holistic Wellness, was created to hold this kind of pace for anyone who has felt like mainstream wellness wasn't built with their body in mind.

What would it feel like to let your care move slower this week?

Your body has never been your enemy.

Not when it flared.
Not when it ached.
Not when it changed.
Not when it slowed you down.
Not when it refused to perform on command.

Your body has been communicating.

For so many of us living in marginalized bodies, in larger bodies, in chronically ill bodies, we were taught to interpret signals as betrayal.

Fatigue meant weakness.
Pain meant failure.
Weight changes meant loss of control.
Symptoms meant something was “wrong” with us.

But what if your body is not punishing you?

What if it is protecting you?
What if it is adapting?
What if it is asking for capacity-honoring awareness instead of criticism?

Body Relationship® Healing begins when we shift from fighting our body to listening to it.

One breath at a time.
One moment of reconnection at a time.
One compassionate response at a time.

You are not broken.
Your body is not defective.
And you do not have to go to war with yourself to experience wellness.

If you’re ready to explore body peace, inclusive wellness, chronic illness support, and nervous system regulation in a way that honors your lived experience, the support tools are in the bio.

Let this be the moment you soften.

What has your body been trying to tell you lately?
