When you’re sleeping, it may be helpful to position your spine in its neutral position. When we are lying down, certain parts of our body will sink downwards due to gravity like the neck and low back. Offloading the spine from side bending may help alleviate symptoms and allow restful sleep to accelerate the healing process. To improve your sleeping position, try placing cushions or pillows that will help you fill the gaps or prop yourself up to ensure the spine is following its natural shape. Not all pillows fit the same for all body types, a soft moldable pillow may be useful to help maintain that neutral position to fit your body’s needs.
