Melvindale Wrestling would like to welcome Sadiq AlKanas as our Head Coach for the 2026-2027 season.
As a 2005 Melvindale High School graduate, former wrestler, and wrestling referee Sadiq returns to his roots with a wealth of experience, a positive attitude, and a passion for empowering student-athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the mat. His extensive network within the wrestling community will provide invaluable opportunities and resources, fueling our program's pursuit of

Hey everyone, we just want to take a moment to give a huge thank you to Coach Jordan for everything he’s done. He’s stepping away from coaching to focus on his family, and we couldn’t be more grateful for his time, care, and leadership. The impact he’s had on us as a team will never be forgotten. Congratulations to our seniors on graduating high school!
We are honored to call Hamed Alsaadi, Luis Oyola, and Gasser Musaid former Melvindale Wrestling athletes and are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished both on and off the mat.
These young men have represented our program with hard work, dedication, and character throughout their time at Melvindale. They have helped continue the proud tradition of Melvindale Wrestling and have left a lasting impact on our program.
The good news for us is that all three have younger siblings coming through our wrestling program, so we’ll be seeing their family names—and probably their faces—for years to come! 💪
We can’t wait to see what the future holds for each of them. No matter where life takes them, they will always be part of the Melvindale Wrestling family.
Congratulations, Hamed, Luis, and Gasser! We are proud of you and wish you nothing but success in your next chapter.
Once a Cardinal, always a Cardinal. ❤️🤍

Congratulations to our softball team on winning the districts
🥎🏆 DISTRICT CHAMPIONS! 🏆🥎
A huge congratulations to our Melvindale Girls Varsity Softball Team on capturing the District Championship for the first time in over 10 years!
This championship run was nothing short of remarkable. In the district semifinal against Edsel Ford, the Lady Cards found themselves down by five runs but refused to quit. Showing incredible heart, resilience, and determination, they battled all the way back and walked it off in the bottom of the 7th inning to advance to the championship game.
They then completed the job with an impressive 8-4 victory over Dearborn to bring home the district title!
Congratulations to our players, coaches, and supporters on this outstanding accomplishment. Special recognition goes to Coach Don Wolan and Coach Mike Gable for their leadership and dedication in guiding this team to a historic season.
The Lady Cards showed what it means to compete with grit, belief, and pride.
❤️🤍 District Champions! Go Cards! 🤍❤️
