[03/10/19]   All ramps to docks are accessible at the marina. Debris is still a factor, so just be careful when walking to the ramps and/or driving into the parking lots.

The store is starting to fill up with our summer inventory. Here are a few of our items.

Dale Hollow Lake

Dale Hollow Lake Reservoir elevation is 660.09 and the tailwater at 525.19 as of 7 am today, February 25, 2019. The projected elevation for midnight tonight is 660.90 and 660.80 by midnight on February 26th.

Dale Hollow has brought on three hydropower units will open the spill gates for a total discharge of almost 10,000 cfs. We are forecasting a maximum headwater elevation of just under 661. Top of gates elevation is 663, the pool of record is 660.98 (1975) which is not expected to be exceeded at this time.

We received several comments/questions this past weekend as to why some of the projected elevations were less than the actual level.

The Nashville District Corps of Engineers (LRN) strives to make the projected elevation information as accurate as possible. Information is provided as a public service and is for informational purposes only. It is derived from several sources including, but not limited to, LRN, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), United States Geological Survey (USGS), National Weather Service (NWS), and computer models using best engineering judgment. The projected elevations are based on a known—the exact amount of rainfall that has actually made it to the ground. It does not include forecasted weather that may, or may not come through. The elevation information is updated daily to reflect the current situation and leadership will coordinate with various stakeholders for planning and safety purposes.

Dale Hollow Lake

As of 1pm CST today, Sunday Feb. 24th the lake elevation for Dale Hollow is 659.78 and the tail water is 524.78. Two or more generators will be running-they came on today at 11am. The predicted lake elevation will be 660.80 by midnight, 660.90 by midnight on Feb. 25th and 660.80 by midnight of Feb. 26th. This is all subject to change without notice due to unanticipated changes in weather conditions, downstream demands, and power system requirements.

Clay E911

Wolf Creek Dam will be increasing the release to 55,000 CFS soon. Dale Hollow Dam is now opening 3 generators at max speed. This will effect homes along the Obey River as well as the Cumberland River. Water will rise quickly so be watchful and continue to monitor your area.

Docks and boats are being walked and checked currently. We see no issues at this point but boat owners will be notified if we see one with their boat.

Willow Grove Hwy at Cates Drive. TDOT will be bringing barricades soon.

Overton/Pickett E-911

Road Closure: Celina highway (52) is closed from the caution light in Livingston to the Clay County Line. OPEN to residential traffic or emergency vehicles ONLY. NOTE FROM CAUTION LIGHT TO THE HIGH SCHOOL IS CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC

[02/24/19]   The marina will be closed tomorrow, Sunday, February 24th. The water is now across the highway near the entrance to the campground and marina. It is about 3 inches deep. It’s expected to become impassable by noon tomorrow. Please do not attempt to cross the water!! All boats are being watched and checked. If there are any issues, owners will be notified.

This is coming into Willow Grove Marina as of 4:30 today. The Corp is saying we could possible be 2 feet deep across before this is over.

Current situation:
A dock and B dock ramps are covered at the shore line. Main wood ramp to store is covered. Concrete ramp to store like about 12 inches before it is covered. Road coming into the marina is about 12 inches from coming across the road. With the expected rain to come and potential for storms tonight, water will be over part of the road by at least noon tomorrow. All boats are being checked on regularly and we have no issues currently. We are staying positive and praying that there will be no damages with tonight’s storms.

[02/22/19]   Current situation: Houseboat A dock, Houseboat B dock and Houseboat D dock ramps are covered with water. The only ramp still accessible is the main marina store walkway. Also, the road to Houseboat B dock is covered and in one area is about a foot deep.

Just giving an update on the current situation at the marina. All docks are being checked daily and everything is fine. We are watching the water levels as they increase. The lake is expected to rise another 4 feet at least with the predicted rain forecast. We are currently 3 feet above summer pool. At this rate, there is a high probability that water will be across Hwy 294 (Willow Grove Hwy) coming in to dock by Monday. Boats may only be accessible by water.
