Due to flooding and campsite damage resulting from record high water in February of 2019, the island campsites at Lillydale Campground will not be able to be restored by the May 17th revised opening date as we had planned. Renovation in the mainland part of the campground is well underway. However, sites 101 to 115 on the island will have a delayed opening well into July.
The reason for the delay is due to excessive erosion that washed out most of the campsites and undercut the bank several feet. The entire island will need to undergo bank stabilization as well as new site construction.
A revised opening date for Lillydale Island, sites 101 to 115 has been set for July 15, 2019. It may open earlier, or it may be open later. At this time we just do not know. We regret this inconvenience. Continue to check the banner information at the top of the www.Recreation.gov reservation page for site updates.

The staff at Dale Hollow Lake is very grateful to the many dedicated visitors to our parks who have commented on Facebook about a volunteer cleanup to assist with the flooding damage. Due to the nature of the hazards, the time constraints, and large volume of work to be completed, the restoration will be conducted by our service contractor. However, volunteer efforts do exist for those interested. Mark your calendars now to participate this coming September in our National Public Lands Day Lakeshore Cleanup Event! https://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/Locations/Lakes/Dale-Hollow-Lake/Special-Events/

Corps of Engineer Launch Ramp Update:
As of March 12, 2019 on Dale Hollow Lake, some launch ramps are accessible and some remain closed.

Open: Lillydale Day Use, Plankyard and Pleasant Grove

Questionable: Obey River Day Use. Although not closed, excessive drift remains

Closed: Willow Grove Day Use, Moodys Access and Butler’s Landing. Water over the access road and/or parking areas

While some ramps are usable, continue to use caution as drift remains at the ramp and on the lake, edges of the launch lane are not discernable and could have undercutting and erosion, and underwater hazards still exist out on the lake. Use caution and boat safe! For marina ramp information, please contact the marina directly. #DaleHollowLake
