AAU COACHES — REMEMBER THIS.

Kids leave. That’s part of their journey.

They are growing, learning, and trying to figure out what’s best for themselves and their future. As coaches, our job is not to get angry or take it personally when a player decides to move on.

The relationship should always remain.

Support them. Encourage them. Celebrate their success — even when they are no longer wearing your jersey.

At the end of the day, it’s bigger than basketball.

We are helping build young women/men, not just basketball players. The impact we have on them should last far beyond the time they spend playing for us.

Stop getting mad when kids leave. Be proud that you were a part of their journey. ❤️🏀
