Sweet Home Girls Flag Football

Summer Flag Football is back!!! This is for all Sweet Home girls that are going into grades 5-8 in September! It is one of the fastest growing sports in the country and we’d love to have you come play football over the summer! PLAYOFF WIN: Big time win in the first round of the playoffs at home over Hamburg tonight! The squad ripped off 40 unanswered points to advance to round 2 with a 40-7 win. Kaila and Khloe with monster efforts to lead the offense and the defense showed up bigtime forcing several turnovers, including a Cris pick 6. Shout out to alums Amber and Reagan for showing up to support the squad! Kept the streak alive, that’s at least one playoff win EVERY year of our 5 year program history. We travel to Grand Island for a 10am Saturday showdown!

On to the playoffs!!! Big win over Hamburg on the road last night. We secured a home game in the first round of the playoffs…this time we’re hosting Hamburg, tomorrow at 5pm. Hard workers of the game went to the offensive line of Lexi, Viv, Brin and Marisa…also to Aeri who has a motor that does not stop. Players of the game went to Amelia who had a career high 282 yards to go with 3 TDs and 0 turnovers, Khloe who had over 100 yds and 2 TDs and 5 pass breakups, Sophie who led us with 8 flag pulls and caught a deep TD and Rafi who had 3 pass break ups and caught a deep TD of her own! Lots of Gatorades to give out from Coach!

Heck of a Friday…big W over South Park on SENIOR NIGHT…great time honoring Cris, Brin and Viv! Special guest, one of our OG flag ballers from year 1, .hallowell. We finish up Monday night at Hamburg before moving on to the playoffs!

Congratulations to Athlete of the Week, Amelia Thompson. Amelia is a 7th grader and starting QB on the varsity flag football team. Amelia had 218 yards and 3 TD's in the teams victory over North Tonawanda. She currently ranks 14th in the section for total yards! Great job!
