Lake Superior is an awesome place to sea kayak! Pretty beaches, historic lighthouses, and wind! Lots and lots of wind! Thank you to the University of Minnesota Duluth (birthplace of Bob Dylan I did find out) and their truly amazing Associate Director of Outdoor Programs, Melody David-McKnight for having me come co-teach their L3 Coastal Kayaking ICW these last five days! Six amazing candidates brought humor and fun into an incredible learning experience. Thank you to all who attended for all you did, your growth and development.

We are extremely fortunate every year to get to paddle with and educate a dedicated group of volunteers from around the Puget Sound who monitor the kelp beds in our local waters. The biggest thanks to the commission for having us back for our third season teaching rescue fundamentals to this awesome group.

Blue skies, warm weather and calm seas for a fun few days of mid week classes. A few photos to share from our time on the water. Just getting done with our first sea kayaking five-day boot camp over this Memorial Day weekend. Seven awesome paddlers came from Minnesota, Colorado and locally for a week of learning, paddling and getting to enjoy what was an overall beautiful weekend at Deception Pass. Biggest thanks to our students for all they brought with smiles and laughter, and a real commitment to building their kayaking fundamentals. Wishing them awesome adventures ahead!
